The Strobostomp is readable in sun light. What happens is that the led colors vanish, washed out by the sun. Instead of the display being back lit it is now front lit. Kind of like a negative version of old lcd digital watch screens, the screen is mostly black rather than mostly silver grey. Here's a photo... imgur.com/a/6AmGTikI just ordered a new Strobostomp, so I hope the pedal works as advertised DrKev. 😉 There were a few times when I was playing a gig outdoors and I couldn’t read the Korg tuner at all.

I use Strobe Tuner Pro (on my Android).
Only a couple bucks, and zero complaints.
Plus a TC Polytune on my board.
