I’m disappearing down a rabbit hole inspired by Uncle Tupelo.
I was spinning Son Volt earlier - Union.
I remember the Red and Blue Beatles double albums. A musical education in eight sides.

LesTele, love Wilco. That video has some great Chicago scenery. Jeff Tweedy's book Let's Go(So We Can Get Back) is a good insight to his song writing. Being from Chicago I've seen them a couple times, great shows.

Being from Chicago I've seen them a couple times, great shows. I’ve been lucky enough to catch Wilco a few times in Glasgow. Once, at the Royal Concert Hall, a fight broke out in the balcony during one of the quieter numbers. I have the book and the original plan was to keep it for reading on holiday. As that seems unlikely, I’m going to move it onto my ‘to read’ pile. Scotsman Newspaper Report of Fight

I friend has several a commercial free radio stations on TuneIn. I usually have one of them playing on my home audio system during the day. Sadly he says he's coming to the end as financial pressures are causing him to toss somethings overboard, so probably keep just a few channels.

A friend talked me into seeing ZZ Top just as their 2nd Album was coming out. I had only heard their first album and not particularly fond of them. I went expecting my reaction to their music to be less than enthusiastic but after seeing them live they were incredible! Very tight, put on a good show and I enjoyed it. It was at the smaller theater on one side of the then Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth. I believe it was the last song it was rocking the Theater and they all stopped exactly at the same time and it left the theater reverberating the sudden stop. They have been one of my favorites since that time.

I never did see them live but I worked with a couple guys who had been on their road crew. They said when they were on they were really on. And when they weren't quite in they were still better than most. Was kinda iffy about this album at 1st but if has groen on me. Sorry I never caught them.

This band from the Balkans did so much for the Surf Revival of a few years ago. I get lost in their whole catalogue.

Santana, off Moonflower a double vinyl LP, Europa.
I made it my mission when this came out in 1977 to learn this note for note, doing that served me well.
Classic!

Every once in awhile I get on a film score kick. I've been enjoying Thomas Newman scores- American Beauty, Road To Perdition and the Shawshank Redemption.

"Only Have Eyes..." is just about the quintessential doo-wop, IMHO. Yup!!! It's just sooo slick & smooth sounding, just an overall wonderfully put together little ditty, and it even has pretty good recording sound quality too. Love it. It's on the Teenage Crush CD series vol II I'm playing right now, great selection and sound. acerecords.co.uk/teenage-crush-vol-2
