OK, these were recorded about a year ago. Live, no overdubs. Presonus Firewire 8 input interface to Garageband - voice, guitar 1, guitar 2, bass, kick, snare, toms, cymbals (the cymbals went to a small mixer and out into one input). Some compression, eq, and echo/reverb as needed. No effects added. Rhythm guitar was a SG with P90s into a PRRI and a Plimsoul through a Sennheiser mic, the lead guitar was Gibson LP into a Fender Hot Rod, no pedals, Shure 57 mic.
No barriers or separation, just everyone facing each other.

Here is my contribution. I did this at home by myself at night when I felt the mood. Because we are all quarantining due to Covid I had do this as a solo project. In order to maintain sum structure I assembled a drum loop and bass loop so I could stay in time rather than use a click track. I played the song with just me and an acoustic guitar until I got the verses and changes worked out. Then I went back and did each track over one a a time until I was left with all new tracks that I had created and I discarded the original template. Basically it consists of Garageband. Apogee One interface. Shure SM 57. Fender Jazz Bass. Telecaster. No effects but did use GB EQ and plugins. This is 9 tracks total T1--Manchester drum loop. 80 bpm T2-Bass clean no effect. The first 2 bars are a loop. There is a loop that follows but I took out almost all of it in the final mix T3-Bass drive no reverb--all me T4-Bass more drive and lot of reverb-also a mix of loop and me. Same as T2. Used it as a tracing tool and then took most of out. T5-Vocal (bright vocal) added considerable reverb. all me. Did that in 1 take. T6-Clean Guitar--simple clean guitar through tweed amp. all me. It took a couple takes because the bass was so dark I used major chords to create some counterpoint. T7-Drive Guitar--gain up high. all me. Pushed the mids. T8-vocal swell effect from GB loops for first 2 bars. I then took out but added it back in at the very end. T9-rainforest effect same as vocal swell for first 2 and last 2 bars. I was influenced by The Cure and wanted that midi sound. In the Master mix I did use the automation control to adjust the faders to adjust volume of each track according to taste. soundcloud.com/larryguitar54/7_9_20-lucky-stars-rough-mix-7920-830-pm
