Over time I had picked up all of their CDs except for the very last one, as I had drifted elsewhere by then, and then they split. Recently I watched the documentary that came out a couple years ago, "Supersonic", and that has sent me back going over their output. What a heck of band , and Noel Gallagher is just an astonishing writer. They were destined to break up, but they had a great, great run.
I've also been rummaging around listening to individual interviews with the brothers from the last couple years. For sure Liam wants to get back together, but the relationship is so fraught seems iffy at best.

I quite liked the first three albums when they came out (yes, I’ll admit to liking even Be Here Now at the time) but a more recent listen showed me they are very much of their time. YMMV

Noel Gallagher is a very fine songwriter indeed. Fan of all the Oasis stuff (although I wish the albums were recorded better) and his solo stuff.

I was a big Oasis fan back in the '90's. In fact, I think they were (almost), single handedly responsible for the resurgence of guitar bands in the UK. I saw them several times back in the day, and although I still think the first two albums, and quite a lot of single b-sides, are classics, I pretty much gave up on them after Be Here Now.
I haven't heard much by High Flying Birds, Beady Eye or Liam solo, although they have all been selling out arenas, but I watched the Liam documentary, followed by Supersonic (twice) a couple of weeks ago, and I still think the early stuff holds up well.
I don't think most of you guys realise just *how* big they were over here; they still hold the record for the biggest gigs ever played in the UK, and they probably could have sold them out ten times over. Anyway, I'm also on a major Oasis kick, and I'd absolutely love to play in a tribute band ;-)
Also, I heard that last week, Liam announced it was the last ever Liam Gallagher gig............ as Oasis are getting back together. I've had no confirmation, but if it's true it would be one of the biggest selling tours ever here. Fingers crossed. ;-)
