Gibson made some pretty awesome stuff..and of course some clinkers...they dared to go where Fender didn't...but they just couldn't grab the market share like Fender did..
I've had many Fender amps, Gretsch, and Gibsons...now I'm down to 3 Gibsons...
I'm fighting the urge for more... left to right 1958 Ga-20, 1960 Ga-77, 1960 Ga-30.....let's see yer Gibby's!

I don't have any pics, but I have a '60 GA-5 Skylark, '61 GA-8 Discoverer, '59 GA-18 Explorer, GA-20T Ranger and a couple Gibsonettes. Got 'em pretty cheap, but they need some attention, electronics-wise.

No pics!!!....dang!.. those are all fine amps ..and the years 57 thru 61 are my favorites The 18 and the 8 are both on my wish list...not a fan of tremolo on amps..and I haven't seen an 18 without it...I'm guessing they didn't make one..but Gibson is known for doing a lot of weird stuff....the Ga-8 comes with trem or without. I also had a Gibson Hawk..early 60's..had 2 10's..Had to dime it to get into the sweet zone...like an idiot I sold it....

I’ve got a Crestline Explorer and a mid ‘60s Lancer.
The Explorer is a great amp in its own right. The Lancer is the turd that it is. I bought it cheap to mod. Specifically to fix the design goofs.
I don’t think I have any pics of either one.

Several years ago, I played a Warren Haynes LP through a Gibson amp, I'm not sure which model, but possibly a GA-30 combo with 2 speakers.
I wanted to buy the whole setup, some of the best tone I've ever gotten.

Long wanted a Gibson GA-30 with two speakers but price has made it elusive for me. Great sounding amps

I've got a 1959 GA-5 Skylark. Beautiful little 1x8" Champ like amp! Here it is with my other amps.

Hey Bopper. Thanks. Yeah, I guess that's true. They only made them from 1963-65, I believe. (AA763- AB763) It's pretty much a blackface Vibroverb, without the verb. (No, I'm not a SRV wannabe ) I just wanted an affordable 6L6 blackface Fender. Mine is an early 1964 "Production 1" AA763. It's a nice amp! I bought mine from David Wilson at the Tonequest Report over 10 years ago. This amp is the one featured in one of their articles. It's been modded a little. It has a plywood baffle-board (instead of the stock particle board) for the early '64 C15N Jensen, and a mid pot in the back, where the speaker out jack was. It also has a replaced Intensity pot that turns the Tremelo completely off on the Vibrato channel, which keeps the gain. I really love this thing!

Gibson's offerings were great. I've been tempted to add one to my collection many times but I never could get used to their cosmetics. I'm sure that was just because my first amp was a BFPR and that Fender aesthetic imprinted on my feeble brain.

I had a solid state Gibson G-20 for a while. Nice sounding but nothing special.
Reliable backup, good clean tone, long gone now.

Don’t have one, want one!
Advise and comments please.
Something in the 20-30 watt range. 10 or 12 inch speaker.
And, which one has two speakers?
thank you!

Stay away from the Lancer. I can tell you that much.
The GA15-RVT Explorer is a pretty nice 1x10" combo and can be found under 5 bills. Make sure it has its original footswitch with it.

I thought there was a Gibson amp with EL-84’s? I don't know, but wasn't the GA-5 "reissue" an EL84 amp?
