A month or so ago I bought a lil Texas neo speaker for my drri .’ Originally it had a Jensen p12q. Although I like the lighter speaker part,I thought the speaker was overly bright and harsh. So I went the lil Texas route. Love it. Just as light as the p12q and more balanced to my ears , plus it doesn’t break up as soon.

Great news! Eminence makes great speakers. I luvs ‘em. Good to see you leftee. Yes they do and I put my drri on a scale . It weighs at around 35ish with the neo. Makes it more portable for this geezer too.

I had a Texas Heat in another amp that I sold. It was a good speaker.

Eminence does make great speakers! I have two Eminence Legend 1258 12” speakers in my guitar amp and Eminence Neo Kappalite 3012 HO speakers in my two GK 112-2 bass cabs, and an Eminence Kappa Pro LFA-2 15” speaker (w/“boat anchor magnet). All of them do really well.

I remember years ago everyone was replacing the DRRI speaker with an Reverend Alltone 1250.

The Jensen P12Q is one of things I like best about my DRRI Special Edition. I bought it in 2013 so it is well broken in. All RCA NOS tubes were installed when new and it has never given me anything but stellar performance. I do like the Eminence Legend 10’s in a little combo I made with a Bandmaster Reverb chassis.

I liked the p12q initially, but my strats have pretty bright pickups and it only accentuated the brightness of the p12q. Plus I wanted a little more headroom.

The Li'l Texas would be a consideration for me.
My DRRI came with a Jensen C12K, heavy, efficient but not much character. I swapped it with my Ramparte's special design speaker, less efficient, a couple of pounds lighter and a little less bottom and top end. The Ramparte speaker sounded like the Utahs from a '68 Twin Reverb I once owned. But it might be nice to have a better defined top end and lose a little more weight.
