Well, I don’t really tune my bass down, but, on occasion, I play with a guitar player who does tune down a half step. I hate playing my bass lower than standard tuning as you lose all the response of the strings so I purchased a DigiTech Drop pedal that allows me to keep standard tuning on my bass and play at whatever point the vocalist wants us to play.

My two favorite bands play tuned to E and Eb respectively. I’m frequently annoyed that I can’t go from playing songs by one to songs by the other.

Current band, no.
In the past, yes, mainly hard rock and metal bands I've been in long ago.
I actually really liked it, it fit with what I was playing at the time.

No, not normally, but a few years ago when jamming on Beatle songs with my brothers, and even playing a couple of gigs, one of my brothers insisted on tuning down a half-step. The three of us were/are baritones; no one could hit all of McCartney's notes as recorded. On top of this, the one with the idea of tuning down also subscribed to a conspiracy theory about A440.
One of the many things I hated about his death was that my other brother and I were going to gang up on him and insist on tuning in E and on A440. But I think the last couple of years he gave up on his A440 conspiracy theory. He had associated A440 with Hitler.

Not usually, but it doesn't matter to me. The last band tuned down to make things a little easier on aging voices.

Eb. Started with Hendrix and SRV obsessions in high school. Then noticed later that it fits my vocal range much better. Capo 2 in Eb standard tuning is where it's at.

My two favorite bands play tuned to E and Eb respectively. I’m frequently annoyed that I can’t go from playing songs by one to songs by the other. Tune to Eb and use a capo on first fret for standard tuning. Takes two seconds to play in any key. The Capo has limitations but a nice one used correctly is basically guitar magic. #thumbsupemoji

For solo acoustic I tune down a half step. For electric I'm in standard.
On the Gibson J45 it simply sounds better with fatter strings tuned down a bit. And since I am solo I don't have to worry about other people adjusting.
However for the band I've tried it both ways. If somebody else is doing most of the singing then I adjust to him and play in this register. I also agree you can tune down and then capo the first. There is a bit of a learning curve because the dots don't line up but it's not that big of a deal. There is an advantage to that--it lowers the action and the first position chords are easier to fret.
My solution is to bring 2 guitars.

It just never feels right. What I should do is just have both Strats available at all times and have one tuned each way. But I generally have one put away while the other is getting played.

Digitech Drop pedal for me. I rarely use it for Eb, but I would if playing along with Jimi or SRV. In one of the bands I'm in, we tune down (with the pedal) one whole step for a Zeppelin tune. We're thinking about adding a couple more Zep tunes also.

When I was playing in blues/rock bands we always tuned a half step down. It made vocals easier and playing several sets in a night I felt like it reduced my fatigue in my fret hand.
Now I play in a worship band at church and it's always going to be in standard. I have 90% of my instruments tuned to standard. I do keep a few tuned 1/2 step down. You never know when you might want to jam along to some early VH or SRV.
Whenever I do pick up one of my E flat guitars it feels so easy. Tonally I don't have a preference. Strings seemed to last longer tuned down.

nope.
As a Country guy... some songs I'll drop the 6th string down to a D... but that's about it

I keep a dedicated guitar tuned down a whole step to D for Drive by Truckers stuff.

Depends on with whom I'm playing. Standard, Eb, drop D, etc. All bets are off! It's probably one of the reasons why I prefer Teles and Les Pauls...no vibrato bridge issues to contend with.

Never Eb but did have a guitar dropped to D. I had to sing some Journey songs and couldn't do it in the original keys or even in Eb. D tuning did the trick.

I tune most of my acoustics down a whole step to D. I have some in Double dropped C and open G. In 40 years of gigging I've never played with a band that tuned electrics to anything but concert pitch. I love playing with a capo, especially on acoustics in non standard tuning, and I'm happy to capo up to the 7th fret, at least.
