Have to share this. Had me literally LOL. Hilarious sendup of a typical "Science guy" type kids' show.
Adam Driver with Cecily Strong and Mikey Day. I'm no big Driver fan but he does a great job here. Mikey Day does fine too but Cecily Strong steals the show. Her timing and expressions are priceless.
( slightly adult oriented late night TV humor)

A friend of mine sent me a link to that. More like the old SNL skits. I thought it was hilarious.

Very funny!
The two "kids" perfectly played a pair of hyperactive/over-medicated youngsters that are--sadly--too common these days.
"The PBS learneen afternoon." They even got the lazyspeak correct!

I haven't watched SNL (or TV in general) in years... but that was hilarious!

Cecily Strong is great. Watching TV last week, a full SNL episode from Season 1 (~Jan 1976) came on. It was as I had remembered it...just as hit or miss as later seasons.
I watched faithfully until ~10 years ago when I couldn't stay up that late anymore. Lots of good stuff and funny folks in those later years, and lots of hit-or-miss.
Glad I did not give up after the first few seasons.

Yes it's always been year to year, some better than others but IMO it's a myth that only the first few seasons were any good.
The current cast has quite a few aces. In addition to Cecily, Kate Mckinnon is super talented and very funny. Kenan Thompson has been in the cast the longest and he has dramatically improved in the last couple of years. The "Weekend Update" team of Michael Che and Colin Jost have a really fun semi-competitive chemistry. Plus I have always loved that the show is, at least in part, shot "live" and things do go wrong. Some of the best moments are in recovering from mishaps.

sorry, all I could focus on is the proposed teacher's statement that air is primarily composed of oxygen. downhill from there.
Air is more than 3/4 nitrogen. 3rd grade knowledge. cheers.

Bill Hader was fantastic when he was on the show. His Stefon character (Weekend Update) was some of the funniest stuff in a long time. Here he is playing another crazy person.

Bill Hader was fantastic when he was on the show. His impression of Vincent Price is brilliant. But my favorite is Hader as NBC's Keith Morrison. It's not even much of an exaggeration. Morrison is almost that ghoulish.

"Air is more than 3/4 nitrogen. 3rd grade knowledge." That's true. But if you're watching a comedy TV show and expecting empirical scientific content, you're in the wrong place

I wouldn't be surprised if the writers even knew it was inaccurate. It was worth it just to have the "cotton (contin)" punch line. I don't generally fact check a comedy sketch.
Funny to see how many in the youtube comments jumped on the whole nitrogen/oxygen thing instead of enjoying the comedy routine for what it is.
