Well, Bass Pro cancelled my order. Not happy... What was their reason??? There shouldn't be a reason. They should honor and fill the order they themselves advertised. Personally I would take this to the top if needed but that is just me. (A pain in the butt or thorn in the side as I prefer).

Unless it's a surplus ammo item and they sold out without any opportunity to refill, I would make waves.
CEO's don't like customer complaints landing on their desks. FYI
When I was a manager of a large retail establishment, my main job was to contain customer complaints.

I’ve escalated this to their management - I want a rain check to honor the price when it comes back into stock, or comparable savings on another item. I sent the email Saturday and will follow up tomorrow.

When I was a manager of a large retail establishment, my main job was to contain customer complaints. Yes indeed. Being a 20 year veteran of Retail Management for a national chain store. My take on it was this: If the complaint went over my head (especially if it went to corporate) the customer was going to get whatever they wanted and probably even more. In the process I would never look good. Best to just handle it in the moment while it's in front of me.

I've bought exactly one gun from Bass Pro -- there won't be another.
I went there for a specific pistol and only because I got a $500 gift card as an award from work. I had to pay full retail -- no negotiation. The sales guys took their sweet ass time waiting on me. I filled out the 4473 and it had to be approved by two layers of management before the sales weasel was even allowed to call it in to NICS. With the transaction finally complete, I had to endure the perp walk from the gun counter all the way out to the front entrance. It took me almost two hours from beginning to end.
This was the store in MA next to Foxboro Stadium -- maybe they suck less in free states.

I bought my son a Ruger 10/22 for Christmas a couple of years back at Dick’s Sporting Goods-sales staff was ok but they also walk you out and give you the rifle outside the store. I hadn’t bought a gun at a store in years so it seemed strange at the time. The last few have all been private sales.

I hadn’t bought a gun at a store in years so it seemed strange at the time. The last few have all been private sales. At our local Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine Texas. They just walked me to a front desk and hand the gun to a person there. It has a lock on the gun and they put the key in the box for you to take off when you get home.

I bought my G19 from Gander Mountain in Florida. No such complications but they certainly didn't give me any break as I later found out. I then went to a small gun store for my Shield. Faster and more attentive service but again no real deal. The last was my Ruger LCP which I decided to order through Impact on line and ship to a local FFL. Best deal and fast, but I had already gotten my Fla CC which makes it a cash and carry, no wait deal. I started looking around at this shop (guns and pawn type place) and realized I would have gotten the best deal there on my S&W and Glock and pretty much same deal on the Ruger. When I went back years later to look at the P365 they were out of business.

The “new” Gander Mountain (as opposed to the original store in Wilmot, WI decades ago) had a well-earned reputation for silly prices. I only bought a few guns there over the years when the price was reasonable due to a sale or closeout.

Question that came out of this P365 silliness.
I’m developing interest in checking out a P320 variant now that I know they are optionally available with a thumb safety. Can any of the P320 owners here chime in with what they think about their gun?
The P320 Compact in 45 ACP is tempting me...

Can any of the P320 owners here chime in with what they think about their gun? The P320 Compact in 45 ACP is tempting me... I have a P320 Carry 9mm. It is my most accurate and favorite gun. Fun to shoot! It is the easiest to clean also as it is a modular system. The internal firing mechanism comes out as one piece and is considered the gun itself. The serial number is on the firing module and can be seen externally through a small rectangular window. The night sights on it are excellent, easily seen at night and are accurate. Mine has the straight trigger which I really like. Makes trigger pull seem light. I have not shot one with the curved trigger. One time when I took the internal firing module apart I accidentally lost a vital press fit pin. I called Sig Sauer and they shipped me one the next day at now charge. Mine came with the Red Dot Optic but I initually had trouble learning to use it plus it failed so I took it off and sent it in. They tested and replaced within a week, however while it was off I took it to the range and shot it a few times and liked it so much with standard night sights I haven't put it back on yet. That has been 6 months ago.

I wasn’t considering them before because the trigger is very light and smooth, and I carry AIWB. Now that I know a thumb safety is available that resolves my concerns about reholstering with the light trigger. (On Glocks I address the issue with a SCD.) The carry with optic like you have is of great interest, too.

I have both the P320 and the P365. I like them both. and the modularity of the Fire Control Unit gives you a lot of options. For the 320, you won't find a handgun that has more options as far as grips go - different hand sizes, different mag capacities, standard vs. X style, etc. And now third parties like Wilson Combat are making grip modules as well. The trigger on a stock 320 isn't really all that light - somewhere between 7.5 and 8 pounds. That's significantly heavier than the standard Glock trigger, though I never felt uncomfortable about carrying either the Glocks I've owned, or my SIGs, without a manual safety.

I’ll have to look at them again - my impression was that the gun I shot had a much lighter trigger. I’m not worried about how safe they are to carry, but instead about reholstering - I’m a PPC dinosaur that was trained to hold my thumb on the back of my revolver’s hammer during reholstering, and AIWB makes me make doubly sure to keep the hammer or striker from moving. The SCD does that for Glock, but my M&Ps now all have thumb safeties and I’d want the same on SIGs. It’s a personal comfort thing.

What I have found is trigger pull as measured in the center of the trigger on my P320 Carry is around 7+ lbs and has a slightly longer straight/flat trigger angled slightly more forward. My finger naturally gravitates more toward the bottom and gives more leverage making the trigger feel lighter. I (even though guy at Brownells told me a fellow employee installed an Apex Trigger on his P320 and because it was curved angled less (more like other guns) made his trigger pull seem heavier. Well I did it and found the very same thing occurred as it got heavier feeling.I couldn't wait to return the trigger to the stock one. Back to that sweat feeling trigger.

I finally had a good outcome from my Bass Pro P365 fiasco. They couldn’t give me a rain check, so they gave me a gift certificate for the savings - $170. I’ll figure out what I want, I’m not sure if it will be a P365 or not. I’d like to check out the P320c in 9mm or .45, but I could probably use a Glock 44 .22LR more.

I gotta get me a real gun so I can truly be a part of Moe's. The only thing I have is an old Colt 1903 32 ACP and my gun safety instructor said it doesn't have much stopping power.
My son picked up a couple of nice new guns recently, but I don't have the budget for anything like that. Any suggestions for a good but nothing fancy sidearm? (cue Mister Saturday Night special)

Just an FYI about trigger pull. There’s a misconception that a particular model has a trigger pull of “x” lbs. Truth is there are 2 or 3 options for most models. My brother (FFL) routinely orders 2 or 3 of the same model with different trigger pulls. He sells a LOT of handguns to women because he orders them with a lighter trigger pull.

My brother had 3 Ruger LCRs (gave me one of them). All three had a different pull because he ordered them that way.

Anyone that owns a CZ P10C with ambidextrous Mag release knows how stinking hard it is to press and release the Magazine. I put an Apex right hand Competition Mag Release in it. Before it took me two thumbs and pressing pretty hard on it to release the Magazine. Now it releases an empty Mag easily with one thumb. If you try releasing a fully loaded Magazine it is harder but still able with one thumb. Great product! CZ should have never put an ambidextrous mag release on their guns.
