Well... almost completed.
This is an all hog Thinline. StewMac Golden Age Pickups. The neck is hog with an Indian Rosewood board, GD6150 frets and boatneck profile.
Body front and back are stained red (duh) and the edges a blend of red/black/bordeaux. The neck (back) is also stained with the blend.
The guitar body is finished in clear gloss nitro - but left "rough" intentionally. Same with the face of the headstock. Kinda like a Gibson faded. The back of the neck was finished with Tung Oil.
As you can see, I have to string it up and also address the holes by the neck pickup. The pickup is mounted to the body.

WHOOO!
That is beautiful. You *nailed* the Gibson cherry mahogany look. Nice work, brother.

Thanks!
As you can see on the back of the horn, this was really a paint-grade body. I went for it any ways.

"this was really a paint-grade body. I went for it anyways."
A true craftsman never allows facts to get in the way of inspiration.
Those little boogers in the wood grain are a bonus! They add beauty and character to a piece.

That is beautiful. I have been really tempted to try out Padouk or Bloodwood on a project for a long time. Your coloring really reminds me of those exotics, especially on the neck. Great job.

Thanks all! Larry, I have a padouk project in the queue. 😎 I wish Warmoth offered padouk on their vintage/modern. You'll see it in the buy it now, but it's not an option in the "build". (Edited 3x cuz I'm an idjit)

Call them and speak with customer service; they'll do it for you. They have options that are not shown on their site.

The neck I have for this upcoming project is a Vortex 24 3/4” conversion neck.

Nice! The gold hardware accents the mahogany look. I'll be interested in a report on how it sounds (ie, tele'ish or SHB).

Thanks! I'm working with the intent of getting strings on it today.
I really have been trying to steer clear of gold hardware. But, when I settle on a color scheme such as this one, it just seems like I *have* to use gold.

Yeah, the gold on my Epi LP is starting to fade, even though I wipe it down after each gig. I figure I'll just let it relic on its own.

Back at ya, Leftee!
I picture a large room, walls awash in beautiful guitars. There is a group of people in the room, they look at the guitars, they are sad and they sigh. They don't know what to do. They feel helpless. They feel cursed. They are right-handed.

That is absolutely gorgeous! So, does it come in a 'righty' model? Shame on all you 'leftist' always using the creative side of your brain! That is just smoking hot! Nice work, as usual...
