I've noticed this the last few years I've been playing this guitar. It has a slim-taper neck, and I have long, skinny fingers. When I play music with alot of barre chords I start to get cramps in the base of my thumb and going up my forearm. I haven't noticed this on any other guitar I've played. I'm starting to suspect it's the skinny neck not giving my hand and thumb enough support.
has anybody else had this issue?

Yes. Thin (front to back) necks make my thumb cramp up if I play for more than about 30 minutes. A thicker neck makes a big difference.
And the difference in thickness necessary is not that much; a millimeter or two is all it takes to solve the issue.

Yes, but my problem was with a PRS SE that had a neck described as "wide fat". The neck wasn't a thin one (front to back), so I assumed it was the "wide" (left to right) neck that caused my issue. I can play my "baseball bat" 50's neck LP all day long without having this issue.

I have short stubby fingers and I cannot do barre chords on a fairly flat fretboard.

I’ve sold an SG and a PRS SE Soapbar (Walnut, single cut, great sounding) due to the neck thing.
I’m not that wonderful on guitar but to feel pain or fatigue when being a bit rubbish is too much.

I agree! If a guitar doesn't feel good to play for me...Out the door! Life it too short to deal with something that fights you. Because of my short stubby fingers I have trouble with "Baseball bat"necks. Also do not care for flat fretboards as they make barre chords impossible for me to play. I play bass mostly and Neck's make a big difference to me. I like thin necks (front to back) on a bass. I am re-visiting guitar myself.

Comfortable fit is critical. The LP in my pic had a 50's profile and I could not get used to it. Great sounding guitar but ended up selling it.

I’ve sold guitars that I didn’t like the neck too. Had a Gibson Slim taper that was a toothpick. Had a 13 Gibson LP that had a huge neck. Got it in a blowout sale . It took me several Fenders Modern C necks until I realized I love Strats, but hate the Modern C . Almost everything else I’m good with.
I put neck fit as the number 1/ reason to sell a guitar and weight as being number 2. All my guitars are under 8 lbs now.

I have to agree, the majority of guitars I didn’t get along with were due to not liking the feel of the neck.

I had a super-slim Tokai neck on a Franken-Strat that would cause my hand to cramp up after a time. The neck is beautiful but I finally had to replace it with a beefier neck. And my hands are small. I'm not sure who Tokai had in mind when they built that neck.
