Sunburst Yamaha?
I wonder if it’s the one I flipped back around 2006.

I’m surprised no one has brought up twelve strings. Much like a boat, their two happiest days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Can bass players play in this? I could offer up my thoughts on an 8-string bass that I have, as well as the topic at hand.

The only new one I've ever bought that left so fast it was silly was a brand new Rickenbacker stereo 12 string, bought it on an impulse...(first mistake) and really had no real need/use for it, second mistake.
IIRC it was around 1980ish.
Hated the neck so much it wasn't even funny, so I lent it to my highly proficient, musical genius older brother, yeah... he did a lot more with it than I did but even he did not bond with it either, 3 months later I sold it.
Used guitars...well, many have come and gone, more strats than any other model, too many to remember.

That being said...I borrowed a Guild 12 string that was to die for back in the early 1980's, super easy action and stayed in tune wonderfully' It had a huge, full voice, I have some recordings of it that I'm currently transferring from reel to reel to digital. I should've talked the owner into selling it to me.

None. They all seem to stick around. C'mon, guys, get on the train! The C22 with simple controls like a Tele is a beast of a guitar. That’s why I want a 22. I’d have to by a USA-made one, though. Not saying that it won’t happen. It would happen sooner if there was a SE option. I have a 408....great guitar! But...if the offer came along, it'd be gone...Something about "bonding" and all that palava...Not much call for them, so I guess the offer won't come along.

Gibson Firebird 2016. Been longing since Jonny Winter Came Alive but what did I get there. Way too thin and narrow neck and came along with the smell of cheap vanilla too. And much heavier than the model I've been checking out the year before. Plus the mini humbuckers just didn't bring it. Mail order, so back it went. I've had a Les Paul Junior DC with a tiny neck that was a little demanding on longer gigs but at least that one was a featherweight and the P90 delivered. Feeling like playing with a broken hand on that there Firebird... - ask me how I know. Edited for spelling and such.

Only sold two of my guitars in recent times. Not because I didn't like them but, to thin the herd as it were. One, a Gretsch 6120, the other a Ric 325. Since that time I haven't entertained selling any others and probably won't. I realized that I would be better off having than not having, even if I didn't pick on up for a long time because it occurred to me that having a wide variety of guitars makes it easy to find a sound you're looking for that's appropriate when recording and that appeals to me. I have this 'philosophy' that has extended into most things I have, use or done that's gone on for many years. As I said, it's better to have than to have not. I've never had an idea about bonding with a guitar for some reason though. I like getting know a guitar and then move on until I need it's sound. Same with amps. I have many. Variety...the spice of life. As for 12 strings, I played them exclusively from 1980 to 2002 and attribute them to how easy it is to play 6 strings. One is a yamaha and the other a Fender, both acoustics that I still have along with two Ric 12's. One of the reasons only 12's was that I sold my only 6 string and a bass in '80 to help fund my move to Oregon. The 6 was a 335 copy and the bass was a Ibanez Jazz copy. I didn't pick up another 6 string until I bought my first one in '02, a Gibson Les Paul DC of which I recently gifted to my oldest friend as a Christmas present a couple of years ago.
