After checking several video reviews plus reading reviews I ordered a Set of Lindy Fralin Pure PAF Humbuckers. Had also considered Gibson Burst Bucker Pros and Seymour Duncan (which I have previous experience with) offerings and I also considered Rumplestiltskin PAF Humbuckers but couldn't find any video reviews of their Alnico II Humbuckers. I have previous experience with Fralin Jazz Bass Noiseless pickups and they were decent. I mostly play clean Fralin Pure PAF's seemed to be the ticket for me.

I'm a DiMarzio guy, but Fralin's are excellent.

I contacted Aaron at Rumplestiltskin concerning his recommendation for PAF style Humbucker. Here is his response. He makes very nice sounding Strat and Tele pickups and with recommendations I did want to consider them. I got the email bit late as I already ordered Fralins. It does give me relief with the direction I decided to go. Seems like a very nice person with good customer service!
Hello Gary,
Thanks for writing me.
I'm going to be discontinuing humbuckers before too long. I sell too few to make the supply purchasing minimums. I would contact Fralin with your request.
Thank you and have a great day,
Aaron

After getting some use and making some pickup height adjustments I am liking the tone of these Lindy Fralin PAF's. When first put them in they were sorta lackluster then after adjusting the heights to balance the pickups volume and tone I really like them. Clear note definition, bright but not overly bright bridge. Clean tones are really nice. Great sounding with D'Addario Pure Nickel wound strings. Neck Pup is 1/16" above top of pickguard. Bridge about 1/2" or so above. Can't wait to see how it sounds with my new amp when it comes in. Yep, my wife would say I am crazy to spend the amount Fralin's demand and maybe I am, but Money aside, I am happy so far.

As much as I like the Fralin Pure PAF's I now think the tone from the SH-58's in my Ibanez AF95 are sweeter. True, being a hollowbody guitar might be part of the reason.

Yeah, the guitar can make a huge difference. Here's an example.
I'm a fan of the Stew Mac Parsons Street humbuckers; they are low-power, unpotted, with unbalanced coils. But they really sound good. And the price cannot be beaten. When they first issued these pickups they were $35-$40 each.
I have a pair in a Washburn hollowbody and they sound really great. I have the same spec pair in a no-name garage sale 335 clone and they sound fantastic. I have the exact same set in a Gibson Flying V and they are amazing.
Huge difference in tone between the three guitars.

Huge difference in tone between the three guitars. I probably should have listened to you about the Parsons Street Humbuckers instead of spending money for Fralins. I had heard they were good a few years ago when they first came out. For some reason the one video I watched a few weeks ago sounded a little harsh (maybe it was they guy's amp). What you did with that Washburn was really cool turning it into a 2 normal sized humbucker guitar from the one Mini bucker it had. I have heard unpotted pickups sound more open
