This is the one I am looking at
I know the hardware and electronics are crap. I have literally everything except for Pots and Cap's but that is not an issue. I am wanting opinions basically on the Guitar Body and Neck. I know it will need at least some Fret and probably nut finishing/leveling etc. If you wish you can order a model that is customizable to your wishes. There are reviews on the internet. They offer ES-335 style, ES-175 and others. I am not talented enough nor do I have the tools to do one from scratch. Reviews of Guitar

The quality of the wood looks pretty good.
All this stuff comes from China. Expect to have to do some fitting of the parts and checking all geometry as you work to make sure the guitar will set up okay and play in tune. Kits like these will not turn out heirloom-quality guitars, but take your time and put some care into the work, and you will have a giggable guitar you can proudly say you built yourself. These kits are the best way to learn how guitars go together.

The only things I have not done are Nut and Fret dressing (except for taking care of fret sprout). Electronics and hardware not a problem. I can see taking my time putting neck is place and with finish. Stewmac sales a few but the only one I might be interested in is the ES-335 style. I had an Epi Les Paul they are a bit heavy. Also had a Tele. Ok but not really my style (Yep, I am aware I am in the rare weird bunch ). This is just a thought. If I do get one it will be on down the road when I am in the mood to learn and buy tools to do Frets etc. I don't know if I want to go laquer or Poly. Each have advantages and disadvantages. Poly I am experienced with is not hard like instruments you buy. Any comments or recommendations are appreciated very much. This is somewhat uncharted territory for me

For $250, you can't go wrong for a project guitar.

For $250, you can't go wrong for a project guitar. Kinda between an ES-175 style and the semi hollow (they call Les Paul) I call an ES-137 like I used to have in 2002 when they came out. Wish I had kept it and just had a fret job done on it as those tall flat top frets caused notes to go sharp unless I put .012's on it and then it was not much fun to play.
