Katana Artist MKII briefI just traded my Gibson SG Faded guitar in for the newest model Boss Katana Artist MKII. $151 out of pocket after trade. It does not come in until around 3/20/2020. If this works well I will probably retire my Fender Stereo Chorus amp (1991 model) Boss Katana Artist MKII once you get past the talk at 4:57 there is some playing. They sure like to talk One final thought: I will probably buy the multi foot switch for it as Peegoo suggested in another post.

Most of ya'll have a gazzillion amps. I only need one. And quite frankly can't afford some of the sweet tube amps ya'll have. I would love to have the money to buy a Fender Pro Reverb tube amp (my long favorite since repairing one several years ago) but can't afford that. The reason I chose this amp is mainly for the clean tones and full sweet tones and good low end. I don't need a 100 watt amp but this amp does things that I would have to pay more for to get. I was going to get just the Katana Artist (non MKII) but the sales guy said when someone trades a guitar in they get 10 percent off on Non Sale item. This meant I couldn't use the 10 percent on the Katana Artist (series one) model they had for $499 plus tax. Yes it meant I would have to pony up a little but after explaining the upgrades on the MKII model I guess it is worth it. Just hard to wait.

I don’t have one of these ( I have a Mustang III ) but from what I’ve read I think you’ll enjoy it!

I had a Fender Stereo Chorus amp back around that time.
Nice sounding amp, but the Katana should beat the pants off it.

Thanks, that's good to hear In previous post I stated "I would love to have the money to buy a Fender Pro Reverb tube amp (my long favorite since repairing one several years ago) but can't afford that." What I should have said is "Because I do not play guitar out as I am mainly a bass player I cannot justify spending that much".

Todays tubes suck.
Don't feel any loyalty to tube amps, unless you have ten sets of vintage tubes.
I can go into any guitar center and play any new tube amp and find bad tubes. Buzz, crackle, pop, fizz, and I'm not talking, RICE KRISPIES!!
If I was still gigging I'd look for an SS amp.

The Katana is a game changer, like the Microcube was when it his the market: affordable, sturdily built, powerful for its size, and quite versatile. I don't have one, but I know a few players that use 'em and they all agree it's a wonderful amp. If I needed a new amp, this is the one I'd get.

"Your killin me smalls" It is so hard waiting for the amp to get here. Actually Guitar Center. I opted to pick it up. I figured (hopefully) it would arrive in one piece if shipped there instead of my house.

My brother did that with a Johnny A Epiphone guitar he bought online. I think it's very wise of you to have done it that way! Thumbs Up!

I called GC this morning to see if the Boss Katana amp came in (Their site said instead of March 20th they bumped it to March 24th) and was pleasantly surprised that it came in yesterday. Got it home. By the way Leftee I put it on .5 watt to play some, not bad. The Good:
Got some slap back delay and just did a general test.
I think I am going to like it.
I can see I will be going through a college coarse learning to work it LOL
The bad:
Not going to use that multi foot switch until I learn a few things. Tapped the wrong foot switch and it instantly went from low volume clean to fairly high volume Brown amp and that guitar let out the loudest squeal . After this type of thing happened the 3rd time...foot switch is removed

Well I now understand why things went a bit Ary when using the Boss GA FC Footswitch They included professional looking ( self adhesive) panel overlays that changes each foot switch function 😄

Ok, second day of playing and getting to play it with my new Ibanez Hollow body electric. I am liking it with one exception, upon powering up it is changing from Clean to Brown amp tone position causing the Ibanez Hollow body electric to squeal.
I am hoping I can change this in the default settings by downloading their software and making changes.
Anyone who owns the Katana Artist, your comments or ideas are welcome.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! The issue with upon powering up the amp it would change from the clean setting to the high gain Brown Amp setting was corrected by resetting the amp to factory settings. Very easy and now comes up to your last setting it was on when powered down. I think once I learn this little guy a may grow to love it. Hoping so anyway
