Upon emailing Fender support about a parts list & wiring diagram for my Stratocaster® XII 12-String model# 027-8900-xxx (re-released in 2005), I received the following response...
"Thank you for contacting us. I have looked into this for you, and the reason the documentation isn't available is because we don't have it in our records. This is common for a lot of products made overseas, even Fender products in Japan. I apologize for the inconvenience. "
So, I was kinda surprised at Fender... I guess they have no predetermined input (or desire?) on specs when Japan makes or re-release a new guitar model? Anyway, looking at the other diagrams on the support page, I'm guessing it's probably identical to a Fender Stratocaster 60s Classic model# 013-1000-xxx based on the switch & control functions which seem to be identical. Of course, the parts list has some differences (6 vs 12 string) but the wiring is likely valid.
Anyone have any additional info, parts list, or experience that can clarify or verify the wiring? FYI... I've been considering the Blender Mod and I'm one of those that wants to know everything BEFORE I decide to do the work... I just don't like surprises!
Thanks!

Hi Peegoo, Thanks for the info and effort, but in this case, the Original Fender 12 String (aka: Fender Electric 12) was really based on the Offset style Jaguar/JazzMaster models of the same mid-60's era & released in 1965. So it's quite a different beast. If you're interested, this link explains a lot of it... www.fender.com/articles/gear/ring-true-a-history-of-fender-12-string-electric-guitarsWhen Fender decided to bring a 12 string back in the 1988, again as a Classic Series in 2003 and then re-cataloged as a Special Edition Series released in 2005 (that is my model), it was based on the Stratocaster model in both body style, pickups, and controls, with mainly the required hardware differences & tweaks to accomodate a 12 string version. That's why it makes sense that mine is likely based on the 60's Classic Series model Stratocaster since it was titled as a "Classic Series" in 2003. Yet Fender, by their admission, obviously keeps no track of any of this! Does this means that the "Classic Series" 6 string models were Made in USA? ...but the 12 string model was "M.I.J."? Or were they all M.I.J. and Fender's record keeping is simply "The Luck of the Draw" ? Oh Well... Anyway, still hoping someone could verify my suspicions. I will say that the "Crafted in Japan" models are extremely well built and the quality is right up there with the American models! Worse case senario...I'll eventually open 'er up & find out! Anyway, I guess Fender recently released a Parallel Universe Maverick Dorado Electric Guitar which is a real mish-mash of leftover parts! ...not sure I can warm up to that one, but that can wait for another thread! Play On.......

Yeah, I had a 1966 Fender Electric XII. Two split coil pickups - one neck, one bridge - and a 4 position rotary switch. I never did figure out exactly how that was set up. It was 4 different flavours of glorious though.
