New Morning - Dylan obvs
I listened to the double album bootleg series - Another Self Portrait - before that.
It’s fascinating to listen to the songs as they developed and then listen to the ‘final’ versions.

I found this unusually good. Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and Carl Perkins.

Isn't that a good one? I think magical is a good word to describe them together.

Pearl Jam’s latest, Gigaton.
I pre ordered it weeks ago and with everything going on, completely forgot about it until it arrived in the mail (PJ is one of my favorite artists, I still buy CDs to keep a complete set).
I am sure there is not a lot of PJ love here, but they were a very important and for me as a teen, and it’s great that someone is still out there making guitar based rock music.
Eddie sounds as good as he did back then, maybe with a little more depth in his voice. And the band is still great.
In any event, it was a welcome arrival during the quarantine and I played it while driving around today. Sun was out, roads were clear, good tunes...not bad.

Got Herbie HanChicken (guess you can't post his last name properly here) Headhunters spinning on vinyl, Watermelon Man is now playing. Ran out and bought it after hearing it on the radio when it first came out in 1973.
An overall great album that still holds up today.

And my all time favorite easy listening tune...
As raw and basic as they are one would be hard pressed to find a reason to not like them, killer riffs and hooks along with a proven track record gives them a huge hell yeah nod!

Just popped this into the CD player, had the vinyl years back, IMO Spirit is one of the best "sleeper" groups. Randy California was great.
And as an added bonus:

More 45's....Hendrix Purple Haze, flip side 51st Anniversary. Sounds wonderful. I gotta start playing more 45's! Too exhausting! Put on 45, sit down, get up, change 45, sit down, get up, put on 45, sit down, get up, change 45, sit down, get up, put on 45, sit down, get up, change 45, sit down, get up... I can handle listening to an album but that level of exercise would have me streaming from a device.

I take it slow, I play, flip, finish...contemplate the next 45 to spin while watching fav car show or browsing web, get another glass of wine, put on next selection, rinse, spin, repeat....makes for a nice mix of media/input for the night.
