That sounds very sensible.
The ‘get another glass of wine’ bit is especially sensible in these strange times.
I’m spinning another Dylan Bootleg - Vol 10 Another Self Portrait, again.
Tomorrow I will listen to the Self Portrait and New Morning albums. I don’t normally have the time to do this sort of listening.

Tomorrow I will listen to the Self Portrait and New Morning albums. I don’t normally have the time to do this sort of listening. I really need to revisit my fairly large Dylan collection! I was brought up on him by my older brother in the late 1960's early 70's. I don't spin him near enough these days. Oddly, I've been digging through some of my very early jam/band tapes, most on cassette, some on reel to reel. I've actually been pleasantly surprised to find I was better than I thought I was back then. I was way to critical of my playing having a highly proficient/technical older brother as a musician. In retrospect I would've been better off just having more fun and worrying less about how good or bad I was. I'm glad we took the time to tape a lot of it though. Now I'm salvaging and converting them to digital keeping them as true to the original as possible while still cleaning them up. A huge backlog awaits me.

This...well....this is one wild ride.
First heard it as a kid, it literally scared the hell out of me.
Amazing work, to this day it stands out in my mind.
White Noise from 1969.
The whole LP is quite interesting to say the least, but the full second side with 2 cuts running into each other to make one, The Visitation, & Black Mass:An Electric Storm In Hell, can make your hair stand on end. Literally. Be forewarned.

Lucinda Williams - West
Hal Willner, who produced the album died yesterday. He supervised the music on SNL too.

Paul Humphrey And The Cool-Aid Chemists, a cut out bin score from 1971ish. Honestly.....this is a really cool LP to spin all the way through.
On CD as well as original vinyl. Produced by Gabriel Mekler of Steppenwolf, 3 Dog Night, Joplin just to name a few.
Cool, jazzy, funky, off the beaten path and then some barely describes this LP.
IMO it warrants a full play through both sides.

Earlier I was spinning vinyl, Mountain "Live (the road goes ever on) and Lou Reed "Live, Take no Prisoners". I haven't listened to those records for ages. Right now it's Clifford Brown "Memorial Album" -- the RVG remaster. My hard media Clifford Brown collection is embarrassingly sparse, so I had to resort to streaming for this one.

Pearl Jam’s latest, Gigaton. I pre ordered it weeks ago and with everything going on, completely forgot about it until it arrived in the mail (PJ is one of my favorite artists, I still buy CDs to keep a complete set). I am sure there is not a lot of PJ love here, but they were a very important and for me as a teen, and it’s great that someone is still out there making guitar based rock music. Eddie sounds as good as he did back then, maybe with a little more depth in his voice. And the band is still great. In any event, it was a welcome arrival during the quarantine and I played it while driving around today. Sun was out, roads were clear, good tunes...not bad. I second the PJ Gigaton selection...PJ has always got a ton of airplay from me. I've been streaming the new album and after about 3 listens, it is growing on me. I wasn't crazy about Dance of the Clairvoyants at first due to the keyboards, but the bass line grooves and really like the crunchy guitar when it kicks in.

Yeah that song is weird, but I like when a band goes outside of their comfort zone like that for one song. If it was a whole album like that, different story lol.

"Get all the Emarcy Clufford Max Roach recordings, they'll tide you over nicely" Yeah, I'll run right out and get those.
I've never even seen that set in the wild. It's not the kind of thing I'd buy used unless I could see it first.

Best of Guns N Roses is on CD now spinning whilst Johnny Carson is just coming on, on Antenna TV, listening to Johnny's opening monologue.
Yes.... I multi media simultaneously, music and TV at the same time as well as internet browsing.
Now playing on that Best Of CD is G N R's tasteful cover of Since I Don't Have You. This was originally done by the Skyliners in 1958. I applaud their choice to cover this lovely little tune.

I likey! Yeah, I like the bass, drums and guitar fills especially. Pretty tight. Vocals sound a little reminiscent of Delaney Bramlett, I thought.

I bought a boxed 2 LP set titled "The Sarah Vaughan Years" -- I can't even remember when. I just got around to listening to it last night. The records are in great shape and the quality is quite good. The liner notes, if there were any, are long gone, so I have no idea what bands are backing her.
It sounded so good I listened to all four sides. A nice way to spend a couple hours if you're into this kind of thing.
