Something made me think of this tune -- I was never able to get the LP at the time but I have the album on cassette and CD. This is a great band that never got the recognition they deserve.
Huge fan!

My contribution is of the fabulous Funk Brothers of Motown fame with Joan Osborn singing "What becomes of the broken hearted". Most are original with Bob Babit having replaced the late James Jamerson on Bass
If you have never seen the documentary "Standing in the shadows of Motown" you missed a good one!

Banana LP Velvet Underground, Sunday Morning.
I cut my teeth on this LP as a little kid as my older bro played it a lot. Watershed LP for sure.

I've always liked The Police but I'm not a huge Sting fan. That said, I really like his solo record "Nothing Like the Sun". It's a very well recorded LP.

Richard Hawley - Lady’s Bridge That is really good! Thanks Yup, I liked it a lot. Shared it with my bud way out in New York doing an AM radio gig alone at night. He's gonna play it this weekend.

For some reason I've been driving to the store listening (CD) to "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" / Rolling Stones....Something that's nice on the live mix is that there's a very clear separation between Mick Taylor (left channel) and Keith Richards (right channel), at least on the CD and in my car system. Listening to this on headphones it's there as well, maybe not as distinct...

Glad that Guildx700 and LTB liked the song. The album in its entirety is great late night listening. Cole’s Corner and Truelove’s Gutter are two of his other albums in the same vein. Great songwriting and some superb guitar playing. I’m linking an article from Guitar.com which discusses his taste in guitars. By chance, I was at the Barrowlands gig referred to at the beginning of the article. Interview

Tonight I’m listening to Cold Fact - Rodriguez Some catchy stuff! I like the beat, music and voice on the this song. Don't kick me but I was better when I didn't pay attention to lyrics before I met my wife. She ask me why I liked certain songs and had I ever listened to the lyrics. I then did and ruined the song for me...I liked it better just listening to the music. The music here is some really good stuff.

LTB, I discovered the Cold Fact album shortly after it was reissued by Light in The Attic. It apparently became an underground cult hit in South Africa. A few years later a documentary called Searching for Sugar Man was produced. It won an Oscar and a BAFTA and is quite fascinating.

I was going through stacks of CDs trying to make sense of them and came across this one. I had forgotten how much I liked this band and this album in particular. It's a long tune but worth giving a listen, but the whole album is great IMO. Turn it up and warn your neighbors.
