Well that was fun -- I'd never heard that before. Thanks
My wife got it in her mind that she wanted to listen to one of her old records -- this is usually a problem because they are usually beat to crap. I found it on my "lost cause" shelf -- it was filthy but there were no obvious deep scratches. I gave it a deep clean and it came out pretty good. It actually sounded great for kicking around since 1971.

This whole LP from 1969 is ridiculously groundbreaking.
I heard it in it's entirety when I was 10 years old when it came out on a local "underground" FM station...totally changed my view of music from that point on.
This is a short but sweet cut off it, the LP is pretty out there for folks without an open mind, but it's amazing frankly. The musicians are of solid pedigree, IMO one really needs to take a serious listen to the whole LP.
Highly recommended on CD or vinyl.

MC5 album - An old friend of mine knew most of the audience (those *teenagers*) you can see sitting on the album cover.

Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen
Not sure if they made any impact on the other side of the Atlantic. Late eighties.

The Grateful Dead - Skull and Roses from 71. I love Janis but this version is every hit as good. Oh ya, the title! Me and Bobby McGee. Jerry's lead work during the break is just perfect.

I went back to the 80s again today. Vandenburg and Triumph were as good as any of the metal bands from that era but just didn't click for mass appeal.
