I've never seen the show, but I did know that big cat, and sometimes small cat people are BSC.

I read the BBC article until I got to this bit:
Joseph ["Joe Exotic"] Maldonado-Passage is a big cat breeder who ran an exotic animal park in Oklahoma - but went to prison last year for 22 years, for crimes including trying to hire someone to murder Carole Baskin.
And I stopped there. This is the sort of stuff that made me quit TV many years ago.

Since Matthew McConaughey is casting about with Lincoln, I think he would make a terrific Joe Exotic in the movie version.

Just finished the series. About half way through the series I came to the conclusion that this was a mockumentary, there was no way that a story this crazy could be real.
I got to the end of episode seven and the end of the series and went straight to the innerwebs. From what I can tell, it's all true.
Man, talk a about a trainwreck of a fireworks factory fire of a story.
Wow.
If there's aliens watching us, they are steering clear of this whacked out planet and human race! I promise! LOL

Just watched episode #1 and must say that I've never in my life been more certain that I am "normal".
And people accuse CA of harboring all the nuts? This show will certainly disabuse you of that particular notion.

Just started watching it over the weekend, due to alot of chatter about it from friends. Definitely a strange breed, and right now anyway looking like a battle of uber-inflated egos.

I’m gonna have to watch it just to see what everyone is talking about. But a dude with a mullet who breeds big cats sounds like a must watch.

Gun-totin' gay dude with two husbands and a mullet who breeds big cats.
Plus a woman who may or may not have fed her husband to the tigers.
It's a must watch.

Oh you aint seen nuthin yet, I'd say the strangeness peaks somewhere around episode 5. That was pretty much when I said to myself, there's no way this is real. No way. Well, yes way.

I read that due to the sudden popularity of this story, the authorities down in Florida are taking a renewed interest in the missing guy's case.
It was a yahoo story yesterday.

I made it less than a minute. Not something I want to devote any of my life to. My wife has expressed an interest in watching, based on family reaction. Nobody is saying it's great, but more of a WTH morbid curiosity. I'm with you Chris, I told my wife she's on her own if she wants to watch.

------"Who knew "big cat" folks were so far out there?--"
I got a clue back in the 80s when local rocker Joe Savage's two year old daughter got killed/half eaten by one of his many leopards, kept in his back yard. The cage door was left unlatched. He blamed the death on mystical forces and "destiny". And then went so far as to say---″I think that he (God) protected her from growing up in this world, this society that is worse than any Amazon jungle,″. I suppose that accepting any responsibility was beyond him.

Actually, he's got new teeth now, and is apparently butthurt that the show's producer didn't film him with them.
Or something.
This series is the only thing more insane than the times we're living in right now.

One part that the series didn't mention but was brought out in the podcast I heard a while back was that Joe Exotic also faked his country music singing. In reality he used another vocalist's tunes and then put them out there as his own. Since this show aired the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Dept. is getting new "tips" coming in as to what happened to Carole's husband. Pretty crazy stuff!

Sorry folks, I can't see why anyone would waste any time on this one. I tried for about 1 1/2 episodes. My fault, as I was trying to see why all the fuss. Train wreck doesn't do it justice. Prozakc, I don't think being a dentist in that town would be a worthwhile endeavor. Obviously, nobody believes in seeing one.
