So are you playing more guitar ? I realized I have no excuse for not playing more. How about you ? Notice I did not answer my own question.......

No, not playing more but I am settling in to my new digs. My "studio" is starting to take shape. I have some wall hangers on order to get the rest of my inventory out of the closet.

I just started my isolation yesterday. I spent a couple hours this morning, not playing but, going through my exercises in my practicing program and cleaning them up.

Not necessarily playing more, but I'm taking this opportunity to focus on getting into better physical condition.

For some reason I haven't been playing more, I don't know why. I'll have to correct that!

I'm playing a lot more, learning new stuff, and working out old songs and licks that I couldn't quite do anymore.
Plus, I fixed the jack in my 76 Strat, and yesterday I got my 64 Strat working again too!
My neglected Strats are out of their cases and back on the wall hangers and stands. I kinda missed them. Until recently my Les Paul and my White Falcon were taking care of live gig duty.
Lemonade out of lemons and all that...

I intended to play more. What has happened is I’ve worked on projects instead.

Yes. I had been slacking just prior to the current situation, but am now brushing up on an old set list and learning the bass parts to some new songs, revamping/fine-tuning others. If you don't keep at it, your gear starts mocking you.
BTW: cool turquoise, Tele-looking (Warmoth?) thingy in your PIC, Auf.

I intended to play more. What has happened is I’ve worked on projects instead. Same here. The weather has been nice, so I've been working in the garage and yard quite a bit.
I try to play for an hour or so at night, usually while watching "The Sopranos."

Something tells me Mike is pranking our posts. Either that, or he has spell-check reset to the "April Fools" setting...
"Giraffe-looking"?

So far, I haven’t been playing more. In fact, I’ve been playing hardly at all. Other things have filled the time.
I hope to correct that! No excuse, really, for not playing. How often when I was young and working did I wish I had more time to play!

I sing in our church choir. Our choir director requested that we sing along with live-streaming and make a video of it. My wife got the crazy idea for me to play one of my guitars while singing. I used one of my electrics. I printed out the lead sheet with the chords using Planning Center and practiced them on guitars, then worked up the vocals. I did this for the past two Sundays.
So, I actually am playing more, thanks to my wife's idea. Since I don't have a harp or a lyre.

Yes, have been going back through a lot of the classical repertoire I learned in college but haven’t played in ten years.
This usually happens in Spring. Has more to do with the longer days than current events imo. Last year I got all into flatpicking and bought a martin and now am looking to upgrade my a/e nylon lol.

I’m not playing more but I am thinking about buying things that I think will make me play more.
It’s unfortunately my default position. I know I’m doing it but I can’t help myself.

I'm playing more records anyway -- my six string twangy things remain safely in their cases or on String Trees. I did recently put new strings on my Jimmie Vaughan Giraffe. Does that count?

Yes, I think I’m playing much more this year than I have in the last three or four years.
At 73 years old I’m putting a duo project together with a friend who plays just about every weekend of the year and I have the freedom to skip a gig with him whenever I have to; I am involved with a great four piece group where the members are all experienced, well respected players where each player’s history goes back 40-50 years; and, once this quarantine is lifted, I’ll get back to playing my weekly Thursday evening open jam session with a group made up of guys I’ve worked with going back to 1965.

Yes, I'm playing more now. I just raised the action on my Derek Trucks SG, I'm turning it into my slide guitar. Lotsa fun! I've also been making new presets on the HX FX.

Yep, playing more
Making a concerted effort to be able to sightread, after all these years.
Got up to six hours one day.
usually between 4 and 5 hours, split between guitar and bass.
As always, try and make the best use of your time.
Found out there is a local jazz jam night in my area once a month.
They have 3-4 tunes printed out in notation to start the night off.
Seeing the brass players pick up a sheet of music, look at it for 20 seccnds and then start playing shocked me into doing something about it.

I'm playing more, learning some songs and trying to recall ones that I knew in the past. I also have a project underway to change the strings on them all. Fortunately I've sold a few over the last few years so that's not quite the project that it was. I'm down to about 8 electrics and 4 acoustics. And all of these do get some use. I do get lazy about string changes and I don't particularly like new strings, at least until the old ones go dead or get really grungy.

Yes, I'm playing more now. I just raised the action on my Derek Trucks SG, I'm turning it into my slide . Lotsa fun! I've also been making new presets on the HX FX. I watched an interview with Derek Trucks - sort of a "rig rundown" deal - and IIRC he said he uses .011s and keeps the action pretty low. That amazes me because it's not as though he's hitting frets th whole time he's playing. It also amazes me how he just seems to slap the strings with his right hand. I've been tweaking guitars and most definitely playing more. The last one to get tweaked was my '65 ES-345 that I had converted to a 335 and generally botched over the years (I bought it in '81). I had the bridge restored to a tuneomatic and added a trapeze. Well, I hated the sound with the trapeze, so I put the original Bigsby back on (sans the arm) and lo and behold the sound improved greatly. I then lowered the pickups almost flush with the plastic trim to try to lower the output a bit and man it sounds killer! I've been playing that guitar everyday. My blues band added a female vocalist just before the lockdown and I also had started a trio with a keyboardist friend and another female vocalist, so I will be busy as hell once we're all cut loose!

Mostly play Fender guitars and amps. I'm 71 and have had a guitar since 1964. Got serious in 1975.

Nope, working more, school system sanitation supervisor. Summer cleaning has already begun as most likely school will not resume here. We already had an early May 22 end of school release date this year anyhow due to construction.
