A few were talking about a poll between a tele and strat. I thought why not expand it?
The options are based on types/body styles and not particular brands. For example, if you play a Les Paul knockoff, it counts. If you play a Steve Vai model, it's a fat strat.
Most of the descriptions should be self-explanatory.

For me it's a tossup between an Esquire (single-pickup Telly-caster) or a Les Paul Junior DC (one P90). I like the simplicity of the single pickup.
These two are not among the poll choices. Someone owes me an apology!

I thought about the Jr but decided it would fit into the LP category.

Tough to choose just one, because I use Strat's a lot, but lately it's been a standard (two pickup) Tele-style... I say "Tele-style" because a couple of my "Tele's" are not Tele shaped, but they have Tele pickups in them (and a Tele bridge).

I really took to my Explorer I bought new back in 1977, it just felt so right. Over the years I've got comfortable with most all body styles although I must admit I'm still not totally happy playing my Flying V sitting down, even classical style. Still love me a Vee though.

The V is easily in my top five.

Having most of the examples listed I guess if I had to choose, it would be a "which one would grab if the house was on fire". So I reckon it would be a standard Strat. Glad I don't have to choose. I have 5 Strats. 2 with totally vintage appointments, 1 with mostly vintage appointments, 1 SSH and another H-H.

A Strat is my first choice. Ideally, though, I’d like one of each. Or maybe two!

OK Strat (standard) folks, make sure to vote early and vote often.
I have to agree with Peegoo, Esquires & Jrs should be included in the poll.

I played Strats for years, but around '09 I went back to 335s & Teles. Then I rediscovered Fender Esprits (Robben Ford, the Ibanez-made version, not CS) and have been stuck there ever since.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who voted for the fat strat. I don't like the sound of the single coil strat bridge pickup. That single-coil Strat neck pickup, however, is a thing of beauty, soundwise.

I definitely prefer a fat strat over a standard. I just replaced the SC in my Carvin with a bucker and like it MUCH better.

I would have also chosen fat strat if not for my 50th Anniversary American Series Strat (SSS). Bought sight unseen it luckily turned out to be the best electric guitar I've owned. It has a big sound with great sustain, but also has the *vintage* Strat sound going in spades.
My #2 electric is a JV Strat converted to HSS.

LeftyMeister, thanks for starting this thread with the poll.
But what about the SG? Great sounding guitar, neck dive issues notwithstanding.

I have 5 Strats. 2 with totally vintage appointments, 1 with mostly vintage appointments, 1 SSH and another H-H. Strat. I have four Strats though. If I had to pick one of the four, and it was a "house on fire" decision, I would probably go down with the house trying to make that decision.
