I listened to some on the commute this AM. Man those guys can still put a smile on my face. Don Rich was the man.

Agreed. At one time, you could see them every week on Hee Haw!

Never had the good fortune to see Buck live. Did see The Buckaroos (sans Buck) at The Crystal Palace in Bakersfield.
Consummate pros.

He was also the California state fiddle champion one year before he joined The Buckaroos.
Don Rich is probably 30% of the reason why I play guitar today.

No doubt about it, Don Rich was a terrific player and one of historical significance regarding the development of the California Sound in country music. Just thought I would mention Tom Brumley, pedal steel guitar player for the Buckaroos. We all know that Don Rich is revered for his guitar playing in the California Sound by guitarists everywhere. It should be noted that Tom Brumley is also revered amongst steel guitar players for his playing and for his part in the development of the California Sound. Just great stuff! One of my favorite Buck Owens and the Buckaroos songs is called Excuse Me, I Think I’ve Got A Heartache. It prominently features Tom Brumley’s pedal steel playing. Like I mentioned, just great stuff.
