The documentary "Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened" is a 2019 American documentary film about Billy McFarland and the failed Fyre Festival of 2017. It's almost as unbelievable as Tiger King! It's crazy from the first minute!

The Crown. Excellent production on par with Downton Abby. Understanding its fiction but enough context to feel real.

On Netflix:
Saw this one in the theater back when it came out but had pretty much forgotten about it. It's a good one, so we watched it again tonight:
•"The Road to Perdition" a gangster movie set in the 1930s. Cast includes Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Daniel Craig, Jude Law, among others.

All on Netflix:
Couple of "sleepers"
Cop Car - With Kevin Bacon. Remember "the Client" with Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones?(Great flick BTW). This could be a companion piece only darker. Couple of kids running away from home find an abandoned police car. But why is it abandoned?
Blue Ruin - Even darker still
You like strange? Director Yorgos Lanthimos is the guy:
The Killing of a Sacred Deer- Nicole Kidman, Colin Farrell, Kind of a very dark "Twilight Zone".
The Lobster- Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz. I can't even explain. Acting? Story? Script? I'm not even sure if it's a movie, but whatever it is, it's fascinating.

If you don't mind subtitles:
Perfume (Parfum) - German (one of the best shows I've ever seen) Witnesses - French (another amazing show - I think I have a crush on the lead character) The Chalet - French The Forest - French Black Spot - French In Order of Disappearance - Icelandic (crime/dark comedy and really good) Trapped - Icelandic Deadwind - Finnish (currently watching this one)

I second "In Order of Disappearance" Dark, but hilarious. Great movie but it's not streaming on Netflix as per the OP.
Could everyone please note which service is streaming the movies they are posting about?

I second "In Order of Disappearance" Dark, but hilarious. Stellan Skarsgard is one of my favourite actors. But his role in this was incredible. His son Bill has become pretty famous in North America thanks to the new IT movie, but he was also good in Hemlock Grove. All of the Skarsgard kids are actors. Talented family.

Ah sorry. Canadian and US Netflix content doesn't always match up.

I'm currently watching "Stranger Things." It's X-Files meets Goonies meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets Red Dawn and who knows what else before it's done.

One of the Netflix originals that definitely lives up to the hype, in my opinion. A great show that we watched recently is "You", kind of a psychological thriller about an obsessed stalker, but mostly from the point of view of the stalker. Very well done.

For serious sci fi fans, not your usual zombie flick,The Girl With All the Gifts. Thumbs up on that one. Got my interest when I saw that Glenn Close is in it. Above average zombie/contagion film. Just far fetched enough not to hit too close to home. Stupid title though, I first thought it was just another sophomoric teen comedy.
If you liked TGWATG, you will probably like "Warm Bodies" too. It's not on USA Netflix, maybe on Prime or elsewhere. It's another good one.

Shouldn't we also warn people away from the losers?
Here's a western on Amazon that I would advise you to not watch: "Badland" (2019).
I started it on the strength of Bruce Dern and Wes Studi being among the cast members, but couldn't get past the first 5-10 minutes.
All kinds of distracting improbabilities, such as a hot, young, ranch lady who is supposedly dirt poor (can't even afford a horse) but looks like she just shampooed, dried her hair and did her makeup and is wearing clothes that look not just clean...they look brand new: like they've never even been worn before.
Dialog is random, nonsensical and aimless.
Music swings between cloying and excessively "heroic".
Even the brief time that Dern and Studi spend on screen (as far into it as I watched) couldn't redeem this clunker.
Two thumbs down.

I've watched recently on Netflix USA, "I'm not okay with this" and that led to "Locke and Key" I was looking for something a little different. It is a lot of chi;d actors but I think they do a good job. I use an app called Catmouse and a service called Real-Debrid to get great streams of just about anything. Catmouse is free and Real-Debrid is only a few dollars a month.
