If you don't have the patience to wade through the entire "Tiger King" train wreck, this might just be the series for you (on Amazon): "Beast Buddies". The episodes are very short (4-10 minutes) so you can eat 'em like popcorn.
Here's a sample (episode 1, season 1):
Not sure if the whole thing is also available on YouTube or not.

Well, now I definitely want a bear. Agreed: no point in having a pet into whose mouth your entire head will not fit completely.
There's another episode about a woman who puts dresses on her alligator and paints its claws with nail polish. She thinks it "loves" her.
It's a freakin' reptile, lady! Pretty sure its emotional repertoire is pretty much limited to "hungry" and "angry" or some admixture thereof.

Don't know if this has been brought up yet: My OCTOPUS Teacher. I just put it on to waste some time. I'm not much of a tree-hugger, but this is some of the most astounding footage I've ever seen. Completely changed my outlook on life.

Just been watching that after having it sitting in the corner on idle for some time as well. And agree. A lovely intimate doc and a feast for the eyes. Heavily recommended. Trailer:

Long Way Up. Finally gave in due to a mild case of lockdown fever plus heavy snowfalls. Wasn't sure if I would want to watch the two goof around once more and am only at #2 but so far nothing really works on a trip from Ushuaia to LA on prototype electric motorcycles with two prototype electric support trucks and a disfunctional solar panel charging station.. Probably worth a look for the touring fraction of bike riders only. On Apple TV. 🍿

"Godless" (2017): western series on NetFlix. Graphic violence and sexuality, so not appropriate for "family viewing". Michelle Dockery does a flawless job of covering up her English accent and his performance in this has made me forgive Jeff Daniels for "Dumb and Dumber".
"Gritty". www.imdb.com/title/tt5516154/?ref_=ttrel_rel_tt

We watched "The History of Swear Words" on Netflix. Narrated by Nicholas Cage with input by a number of various neo celebs. Meh. Curious omission of George Carlin #4 which I guess doesn't fit into today's edgy comedy. About the funniest segment was Isiah Whitlock Jr (The Wire's state senator) riffing on his elongated signature "S" word. Not for those easily offended by cussing.

Just watched “Tiger” Part 1 (HBO) last night. It’s a good insight into his “development “ and the role his father Earl played. The filmmakers don’t seem to pull any punches (so far) about the indiscretions that occurred during his career and it looks like Part 2 will interview Tiger’s ex-girlfriend(s). Overall, an interesting watch and not just a documentary about golf.

I'm watching the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" right now.
What a pile of dog poo. :-(

We watched "The History of Swear Words" on Netflix. That sounds like a documentary about growing up on Staten Island.

I watched this on Sky Arts last night. Extremely interesting. It seems to be a new documentary and I was hooked from the first few minutes. Highly recommended.

3 part BBC mini series now on Amazon Prime USA. I saw some youtube clips that looked really good but I'm not sure if this is the same one. Only 5 out of 10 stars on IMDB but I will probably watch anyway unless it's really awful.

Netflix: "Blood Father" (2016)---Mel Gibson, Erin Moriarty, Diego Luna, William H. Macy, Michael Parks. Language and violence make it not kiddie-friendly. www.imdb.com/title/tt3647498/

I watched Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on Netflix last night, and while it was quite entertaining (and long), I might have to watch it again to fully understand it.

Yeah it does make more sense on repeated viewings. The 2011 version with Rooney Mara is excellent. I still have to give the edge to the 2009 version with Noomi Rapace if you can put up with subtitles. You didn't say which version you saw. The story is actually part of a trilogy with Rapace in the lead role for all 3. The complete epic was on Netflix for a while but may not be now.

On Amazon Prime (USA) It may seem like a glossy crime thriller along the lines of "The Thomas Crown Affair" about an art forger leading an upscale double life. Without spoiling anything I'll just say things change very rapidly in the second half. Full of surprises and not likely you will stay ahead of this one. Warning: gets fairly graphic. Some very dark humor there. You'll need subtitles for most of it.
Note to the long-necked one: Wish this thread was still a sticky!

Started watching series 4 tonight. A French programme, with subtitles. It’s very, very good.
The subtitles mean that you have to watch the telly and are unable to glance down at devices in case you miss the bon mots.
Enjoy.

Spycraft on Netflix is pretty good if you're interested in covert operations.

We gave The Wilds a chance and it had promise but dang, just can't stand all the depressing teen-girl drama and that is most of the show. And of course the essential-today lesbian content. I wound up hating all of the characters and wanted them to be stranded there forever.

The main character in Call My Agent is a lesbian.

Thanks for the heads up. I have it in my wishlist, but have been hesitant for that very reason. I’ll pass. There’s enough to be depressed about if we want to without manufacturing it.

"Warrior Nun" an NetFlix.
I was hoping that this would fulfill it's obviously-high potential for clever campiness.
Unfortunately, after enduring a single episode, I have to recommend that you give it a wide berth...
...unless, of course, you happen to self-identify as a 13-year-old girl and a budding, fantasy-prone feminist.
My obvious disappointment not withstanding, it did inspire me to coin a word: "Nunja", so there it does have that to recommend it...

We've recently watched "The Lie" (2018 movie) Again the main protagonist is a teenage girl who does a "bad thing" , and it follows the disastrous consequences of her parents trying to cover for her. It does have quite a good "sting in the tail". I'd say it was "ok" We've also been watching Netflix "dark comedy/ horror" series "The Santa Clarita Diet" intermittently, starring Drew Barrymore as a zombie/ vampire realtor. Lots of gross violence/sex. Mrs Ayns likes it, I hated it And I've just found out there are a further 2 seasons
