Couple of creepy carnival series/movies, both available free on Amazon: •"Carnivale"(2003-2005) •"Tough Luck" (2003) Carnivale is one of a very few shows I watched and never had any idea what was going on. Probably worth re-watching and paying more attention.

I watched it a long time ago and just remember that it had a very eerie, dream-like quality to it.
"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus", the last movie in which Heath Ledger appeared (and during the filming of which he died) had a similar quality to it, as did Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and its sequel, "Alice Through the Looking Glass". To whatever degree those movies were held together at all, it was more by a mood/atmosphere than by a coherent plot.

I found City Homicide on Amazon Prime to be a very well done police procedural TV series from Australia. Sometimes the accent gets a little thick, but turning on the subtitles helps.
Terrific casting and lots of interesting personality development among the coppers.

Shelby American Netflix Whether your a car guy/gal or not, it’s a great story. I just watched Ford vs. Ferrari a couple of weeks ago. No big surprise that the movie is a fictionalized "Hollywood-ized" story but it's an entertaining account. The Shelby American documentary is great too. It covers a lot of the same ground and gives you another, more realistic perspective. Thanks for the tip!

I saw it in the theater and can't imagine how Netflix would compare.

I saw it in the theater and can't imagine how Netflix would compare. Yeah that seems like a movie you have to watch in a theater. If you are referring to the Shelby documentary which is on Netflix, it's mostly old footage and interviews, plays well enough on any size screen.
If you are referring to "Ford Vs. Ferrari" I certainly agree that a theater experience would be ideal. I stopped going out to theaters years ago because I became too obsessive about the movie experience to put up with the noisy unruly audiences. Beyond that, right now there no option to see movies in a theater anyway. I should note however that "Ford Vs Ferrari" is NOT on Netflix. Sorry I didn't clarify that. A friend gave me a digital copy which I watched on my 32" Visio in 1080P while hearing the audio on my Sony 7506 headphones (as I do with any movie where I care about audio/video quality). I'm happy enough with that experience, enjoyed the movie with nobody talking back to the screen or ruffling through their bag of potato chips.

Will you like the show? It has had three seasons so far. A different cast for each season.
If you liked the vibe and atmosphere of the film and enjoy great performances by good actors you may enjoy it.
You might not.
I did. So did the critics. Apparently the fourth season has fallen victim to the virus.

I’ll give it a whirl when I’m done re-watching Nip/Tuck. That is NOT good acting, totally campy and completely unrealistic. So fun.

Your talking to a guy that watches at least one episode of NCIS per day at the moment.
The world needs Gibbs!

Ive never watched Fargo, but did of course see the movie, which I liked. Will I also like the show? If you liked the humor and vibe of the movie, very good chance you will like the series. Martin Freeman plays a character similar to William H Macy's roll in the movie, but it's not the same person. I've only seen season 1 and 2. They are both excellent, every bit as good as the movie.
The cast changes each season, yet the story lines do have some connection.

Had my doubts about the series as well and found myself happily wondering how this could NOT have been completely done by the Coens themselves right at the end of 1/1. Well adapted spirit, with a most colorful cast, imho. If you like BB and Better Call Saul etc., this is for you.

Also, Evil Genius.
The very weird story of the Pizza Bomber, which happened just up the road from here.

Community. Absolutely brilliant show, but might appeal most to Gen X and younger due to constant pop culture references. It is all absolute top tier, except season four, where the creator/show runner/principle writer was fired. After he was hired back, that year was referred to as "the gas leak year", an in-story way to explain why none of the characters behaved properly.

I watched "Angel has Fallen" the other day, a follow-up to "Olympus has Fallen" from a few years earlier. Dang but I love those light romantic comedies. I haven’t watched ‘Angel Has Fallen’ yet. My last one was ‘London Has Fallen’. Fun fact. Mr Butler was brought up in the West of Scotland and attended the University of Glasgow to study law a few years after I left. You are right about the “light romantic comedy”. If only he didn’t have such a potty mouth.
