I realize I am in the minority here as a bassist, but Bass Player has received the same grief.

Yup. "The F chord. Don't play it when it comes around in the song."

That was truly laugh out loud material. Cracked me right up, and I love the web address, too.
Thanks for sharing on an otherwise dreary day in PA.

I clicked on one of the aligned sites on the left side of the page and found this:
"When you are dead, you don't know that you're dead. All the pain is felt by others.
The same thing happens when you're stupid."

I laughed out loud at the F chord thing. But, with all this social distancing, I have got to where I can play a barre Bm chord. The position around the 2nd fret, not the 7th.

I aspire to become a mediocre player some day. Just stop being an augmented chord and become a diminished one instead!

Anybody dissected the Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want"? It's in the key of C, which would require an F chord, but on this song the acoustic guitar has the capo on the 5th fret. So you play G and C chords and they come out as C and F chords. There's your workaround right there. Capo on 5th fret.

I love Antsy McClain, I play a couple of his songs in my live shows. Funny guy.

Did anyone check the back issues? There were a few good stories.
One that would be of interest to this group: The most requested and amazing two chord songs. Next issue we move up to three chord songs.

Why do I get the feeling that the Guitar Gathering website is sort of The Lifetime Channel of guitar boards?

I'm confused. Is the magazine mediocre or just the players?
What's an F-chord and will it help me catch fish?

^ Help me out. What's the Lifetime Channel? The Lifetime Channel used to be (still is? I dunno...I don't watch TV anymore) a cable TV channel that contained an awful lot of pro-woman presentations. There was more than a mildly-detectable misandry in their programming. It seemed at least once per week they ran a different movie that had the same title--or at least identical story line, such as 'I Want My Kids Back'. Stuff like that.

Back in my teens I recall a friend boasting "I can play really fast and still hit 80% of the notes". That would fit well in this publication.

I should submit an article on how to waste time on a guitar form instead of practicing, something I'm an expert in.

My wife used to watch the Lifetime channel before she discovered Hallmark. Hallmark is much less anti-male than Lifetime is or used to be. I used to compare Lifetime movies to the Mighty Mouse cartoons I watched as a child. Men were to Lifetime as cats were to Mighty Mouse cartoons. Hallmark is the lesser of two evils.
Hallmark movies don't seem to have a lot of dramatic tension. The same actor seems to play the rich boyfriend who doesn't have time for the girl, who is stolen away by the good guy, if not so rich.
And I don't know why they show Christmas movies year-round.
Sometimes I wake up in my chair to find that my wife has dropped off, herself.
But one time, about 15 years ago, a Lifetime movie had a car chase that ended in an explosion. It was caused by a guy.
