I'd do a righty. I like guitars. Plain guitars, new guitars, old beat up guitars, fancy ass-pimpin' guitars. I would just have to find a matching abalone hat.

Aside from my current Gretsch I've had 3 other MIK guitars, all Agiles. All very good. The AL-3100 I had The other Agiles I've owned were good, the Coolcat in particular. Call me impressed. Good luck with the Wolf and I hope you hate it. Otherwise, I might have to buy one. 😎 I wished I had bought a Coolcat while they were on the Market. How do you rate it compared to your new Gretch?

That Reverb sale looks like real abalone, not the fake stuff. Tony Zemaitis (remember his engraved metal-top guitars?) is the guy who started the shell-top LP thing. Originals command five-figure prices today. Artist-owned originals go into six figures. Ron Wood was and still is a high profile aficionado.
Someone bought the rights to the Zemaitis name and they're making them in Korea, very close to original cosmetic specs and headstock shape. They sell in the several-thousand-dollar range. Teye and a few other brands also offer these.

I would say very close in quality. There wasn't anything I could fault the Cool Cat on, including the pickups which I foolishly swapped out. To my ear the Agile alnico humbuckers are quality pickups. I might give the Gretsch bigsby an edge over the Cool Cat.

Thing is...."Sound"/tone, whatever.... of a guitar is totally subjective, some folks hate the most coveted, vintage guitar's sounds but love a modern, latest offering's voice. So..... that really can't be a measuring stick.
But feel, play-ability/action, & possessing a build quality that translates into years/decades and beyond of faithful, solid service are not subjective.
Hell I once was forced to use a Sears Silvertone at a gig, fugger gave me my desired tone in spades, but my fingers were literally bleeding after the gig the action was so F'ed up and brutal. My best guess was the neck's fingerboard would be literally popping off the thing in the next few years as it was already lifting in spots.
Now, I agree many Korean guitars are now getting there in build quality, but the China stuff....no thanks. Nowhere close to even in the ballpark.

Needs some Naugahyde and rivets to really finish off the "feel" of that look.

I tried a set of GFS Liverpool's. They were quite unextraordinary. Didn't hate them but they were very 'meh'.

So far the only GFS pickup I've kept is a lil puncher in my Tele mutt. It goes really well with the Kent Armstrong Stealth 90 in the neck position. Tried their gold foil, it wasn't for me.

I feel that way about GFS humbuckers in general. I had a bad experience with GFS customer service... I was working on a customer's son's guitar, he had installed a tele pickup and one hole in the baseplate was drilled in the wrong place, and it never was able to mount correctly. They lacked an original sales receipt since they had just moved, but obviously bought it from them because they're the only seller. I sent pictures and measurements to show how far off the hole was, and I just got an indignant reply that they never have holes in the wrong place.
Mojotone and StewMac do such a better job at lower price point pickups, and at this point Duncan/DiMarzio are comparatively cheap, too. I haven't given GFS any thought since.

I’ve drifted away from GFS over the years. It’s rare if I will use them these days. I do love me some Golden Age and Parson Streets! I’ll buy sets for builds when they have a sale.

Something looks quite funky with the left side neck/fingerboard to body joint on that.

Glue, finish buildup or lighting effect?

Well actually no, now looking at another view it's quite obvious on the right side also. Certainly looks like a shim under the neck to fix the angle.

My delivery date is next Tuesday. I think they take the order and issue a tracking #, but the guitar goes through its setup before it actually ships. MiK is a good thing! Getting close now. I hope it all works out for you. I'm looking forward to your review.
