Ok, so we haven't been gigging since lockdown, and I haven't been playing much at home, but today I decided to do some recording, so I needed a microphone. I looked for my gig bag which has a couple of SM 58s and all of my leads in it. couldn't find it. Couldn't find my pedalboard either. So, I checked the car, and searched the house from top to bottom. After about an hour I was starting to get worried, so I tried to remember the last time we'd gigged/ rehearsed, and I couldn't remember so I texted our singer to ask him. About an an hour later he rang me to say I'd left them behind the last time we rehearsed and he'd had them in his garage for the last 7-8 weeks! What a relief, but I can't believe:- a) That I forgot them b) That I didn't realise I'd lost them for 7 weeks c) That our singer didn't tell me. I am such an idiot

At least they were safe and sound.
A few years ago we held a local jam on a Saturday, and one of the bass players had to leave a bit early because his band had a gig up in Baltimore. As we were packing up the last of the PA, the jam host said, "hey, who owns these two basses?" A few minutes later his phone rang and it was Joe the bass player, calling to see if we had his basses. He was able to zip back, grab the basses, and jet to the gig on time.

^ A few years ago we packed up the trailer after a city centre gig. I went and got in my car, which was parked around the corner and drove past just in time to see the trailer leaving, with the drummer's cymbal case still standing up in the middle of the 3 lane road. It was pure luck that I was the next car to drive past, so I stopped to pick them up. The cymbals were probably worth a couple of grand! I also once left a bag with my $400 Lucchese boots in(bought from Allen's Boots in Austin) after a gig. I dashed back as soon as I realised, but they had gone. Luckily, the sound guy had picked them up. I was so relieved, we took him on as our bass player for the next 5 years.

Guitar/keys guy in a band I was in left his LP in the motel when we left Nevada heading for Idaho. Suddenly went oh no, turned around and went back...miracle of miracles it was still there. We had 2 days to get to the next gig, he made it, miracle of miracles
