I removed the strings from my Ibanez Archtop to replace them with some new ones I wanted to try out. While they were off I took time to smooth the fretboard and frets with 0000 steel wool, then cleaned the fretboard with Naptha until I stopped getting black (probably dye) on the rag. Then I applied Howard's Feed n Polish and let it sit for the recommended time of 20 minutes. I then removed the excess and using a clean microfiber cloth buffed it. Installed the new strings and bends are smooth now. Thank you Funky for your suggestion! I am so far very happy with the results.

You better put that Feed 'n' Wax back before Howard finds out you borrowed it.
If he reads this thread, you cover is blown!

I've been a fan. I seem to recall reading that the company owner of Howard's Wax and Feed is a guitarist and uses his product on his guitars. IF I recall he leaves it on for something like 4 hours, but don't quote me on that.
