What is the usual choice or range of choices ?

Not a true bari, but I just converted one Strat using the 6 lowest strings of a 7 string set of Ernie Ball Power Slinkys(14-58) and have it tuned to B (BEADF#B). I wouldn't want the tension any lower.

BEADF#B
But it's a Baritone guitar (Dano), strung with .16's

So I've got 28" scale guitar and it is tuned to D-D, does this still qualify as a baritone ?

27 to 30.5 inches is the "standard".

I have a Dano bari like Pinetree, and I tune it B to B.
I also have a Strat-o-clone I use as a baritone, strung .013 - .060., that I use when I need a talent lever on the bridge. I tune that C to C.

Fender Sub-sonic Tele A to A with flats.
I was really into James McMurtry’s Levelland-era stuff.

Mines a Taylor 8 String but it's tuned B to B. I don't usually move it from there.

So my D-D tuning is a bit unusual by the look of it.
