Seriously, "Edelweiss". At the time didn't know what it was Oh, I would so sing it a capella in that weird girl inflection like the theme song from 'Man in the High Castle". Ay dull vysh, ay dull vysh Every morning you greet me Shmall and white Clean and bright You look happy to meet me Blosshum of shnow May you bloom and grow Bloom and grow forever Ay dull vysh, ay dull vysh Blesh my home-land forever

Country rock band. Guy comes up to me and asks if we do any Oak Ridge Boys. I said we didn’t but acknowledged to him they had great harmonies. 40 minutes later we’re on a break and this guy comes back drunk and is PISSED we aren’t playing any ORB’s! He was really in my face and I was eyeing my Tele for a club if I needed one. Luckily he was so drunk he could hardly stand and finally lost his train of thought and disappeared.

While this isn't about a request I received on stage, it is a genuine compliment that I received in a written note that I still have in my bass case.
Around 1989, while playing as the house band at our local Holiday Inn, I received a message from a female fan of the band that said "she loved the way I played bass", it SHOOK a part of her female anatomy that gave her great pleasure. That, right there, is a one-of-a-kind note for a musician!

I got some requests for Disney songs from a family that was around. Being that most of those kids songs are of a G,C,D variety, I pulled some of them off. It got a good laugh from the crowd that I knew some of the Little Mermaid songs.

We had just finished "Round and Round" by Chuck Berry, a biker came up and says he loves Chuck Berry, could we play that one that starts out "Say The Joint Was Jumpin'"
