Anyone here know if they play nice? A friend with a Zoom 8 has asked for advice regarding an affordable DAW. Seems there's lots of positive remarks out there about Reaper, I use Samplitude and that's pretty much the only rig I have any depth with. I downloaded the Zoom manual and all their interface advice refers to Cubase LE.
Is Cubase LE a better choice? cheers Roly

I have a Zoom R16 that I use with Reaper on an old WIndows 7 computer. I think the Zoom R8 has the same functionality. The Zoom works great with Reaper as an interface as well as a control surface. It can record 8 tracks at once. I really like the control surface functionality and being able to use physical transport controls and faders...instead of having to do everything with a mouse. It's pretty slick. Have only used it with Reaper, not Cubase, so I can't comment on that.

It can also be used as a stand alone recorder, no computer needed, and records to sd cards. I forgot to mention that. It’s like a Swiss Army knife for recording.
