Everybody relax, the liquor store is still open. But it has reverted back to the way it used to do business about 25 years ago. Back in the day all the Virginia liquor stores were set up with a sales counter. You walked to the counter, told the sales clerk what you wanted, and they would go back thru the aisles and get it for you and bring it up to the counter. Maybe 25 years ago Virginia changed to an open layout where customers stroll the aisles, pick up what they want, and bring it up to the clerk at the counter. Well, with the COVID you form a line outside the store, 6 feet apart. When it's "safe" a clerk lets you in, asks what you want, and goes and gets it just like in the old days. I"m glad my state is looking out for my safety this way Bottoms up!!

In this day and time it seems like a good idea.

I rarely go to a liquor store, but I can’t find a damn thing in there when I do. I would welcome this kind of service.

Liquor stores in Utah regulate the number of customers but "force" them to fend for themselves.
In my high school days the local state-run liquor store operated as you describe. All the product was in the back and you just asked and paid at the counter. They even had cold beer in a fridge behind the counter.
