QWERTY typed directly to the forum post subject, this is typed into “Pages” a word processor, with a bluetooth keyboard/case. Using the same keyboard and typing directly into the forum it looks like this. It’s only in the last week or so has it been doing this.
I’m not sure what the problem is, or how to resolve it. Works fine in the word processor but not on the forum, got any clue what’s changed?
Iùll retype the last two centences; Iù, not sure sure zhqt the proble, is; or hoz to resolve it: Zorks fine in the Zora processor but not on the four,; got any clue zhqtùs changed+
Q bit frustrating %o0 A bit frustrating “o)

hushnel, how old is your keyboard? It appears to be the key switch contacts that are the failure mode. Grab a USB keyboard and swap it in there and see if the problem goes away.
Anytime you have a different letter consistently popping up from a letter key, e.g., the Z instead of the W and the A instead of the Q in your case, the first suspect is the keyboard.

Yeah, it’s really weird, I agree with Peegoo’s assessment.
If I type into the word processor or even into the address bar on my ipad everything is OK, if I type into google search or on the forum the indicated key prints a different letter or symbol. It’s only recently started, I’’m thinking it’s an update but I’m not seeing any discussion about it.
I do have an other beat up funky bluetooth keyboard I got at GoodWill for a buck, it works. I’ll pair it and see if somehow it’s they keyboard itself. Though my head can’t follow the logic of that. Correct in one location wrong in an other.
It’s obviously not a problem with the forum or Google. I can pair the keyboard in question to my phone or MacBook and see what happens.
I’ve been focused on more important things this week. Since Sunday a week ago I’ve been very focused on making authentic fresh corn tortillas, perfectly. I’m experiencing phenomenal results. Last night they were perfect. Just threw this in so ya all know this is not distracting me from the important things in life “o)

I’ve got a couple cups left in a 2 lbs bag of Masa. Just a one cup batch a day. I’ve given some away to neighbors. I didn’t make any today, I swung by the Mexican grocery store for some fresh peppers, chorizo and a bag of yellow Masa. I’ll take a couple days off and make some tomorrow. It always interests me how important the actual process is. I’m gettin a good feel for the tortilla press, for consistency and they’re getting a near perfect round, the right water to masa combination is a large part of that. A lot more going on than just masa and water.

Web browsers generally don't allow users to specify or modify the keymap table (which key generates a specific character) because browsers are HTML standard, compatible with standard ASCII and Windows 1252 key codes.
Word processors, however, often do have that as an option for the user's default configuration. That's why your situation is weird to me because it's acting as if your browser is using a keymap different from HTML standard.
It may be due to malware, but I've never seen this bug as a malware thing. It doesn't mean it's not, however. There are several bugs you can catch from Websites that do stuff like pull your mouse pointer to the red X [close window] in the upper right, so yeah, it's possible.
If the keyboard swap does not fix the issue, download Malwarebytes (the free trial version) and run it to see if it trips on any malware on your system.

OK, the other, cheap thrift store keyboard does the same thing, so it’s not the keyboards. The touch screen keyboard on the iPad is working properly.
I wonder if it’s something messing with the bluetooth function.
OK, searched around the web and read up on the stuff that can mess with the iPad. Didn’t really explain anything that could be the problem. Since the keyboard works fine in the address bar and my word processor I decided to go to another forum and see how the keyboard characters behave.
They worked fine, so I come back here to pass on the information and, for the moment anyways, the keyboard is working fine, this post is an example. 15 minutes ago it was still behaving badly.
I think I’ll go back to sewing masks. “o). Maybe start the art for a Kokopelli leather belt I’ve been meaning to tool.
I don’t believe I have seen the end of this problem, but I’ll keep ya informed.

That's definitely weird.
Did you shut down Btooth, restart it, and re-pair (not 'repair', heh) the keyboard? How are the batteries in the thing?

Yes, it’s usually the first thing I try. It may have come from an app update then the fix was loaded when I updated a few apps this morning.

I’m glad it straighten itself out. Something about my bassist finger callous’ makes the whole touch screen typing a PIA. Not terrible on the iPad but stil it isn’t a keyboard.
Reminds me I’ve got an old 1920s era typewriter I need to fix the return/progress linkage, probably has a real specific name for it that I’m unaware of. Never have needed to know what somethings called to fix it though. The spring is good the drive band is not connected.
