I have a set in my Tele and just installed a custom wound set of his "Miller's Daughter" Strat pickups. I've been a booteek pickup sniffer from way back. Fralins, Lollars, Antiquities...these are right in there with the best. I replaced a set of Fender Pure Vintage 59's and they weren't too bad, my main reason was I wanted RWRP for the quiet 2 and 4 thing. My goodness these got the Kahnoffelheimer Sultans of Shwing going on.
I have never met Aaron but consider him an old FDP friend from way back. I hope he keeps on winding.

Yes. Yes he does. Haven't met him, we corresponded years ago when I was more active on the FDP and was working on pickup design, definitely a class act.
I just looked up his site and some sound samples on YouTube, and boy oh boy, has he nailed it! Here's the truth about making pickups: you can get kit stuff and make a decent sounding pickup basically the first time you're able to complete a coil without breaking the wire. To be able to control the elements involved to get the sound in your head is incredibly hard, and is the sort of thing you'll be up all night banging your head against a wall trying to figure out. He has a great ear and has definitely figured out how to get what he wants out of it. I don't need any pickups right now, but part of me wanted to buy a few sets just to have for that future project.
