I actually received this guitar a few days ago. And because it's a Squire I didn't really even think about posting about it here...but you know what? - This is actually a pretty sweet guitar! It's a Bullet - so it has a fixed bridge.
I bought the guitar because it was a Strat, it was cheap, and because I had some other parts laying around the house and I figured I could use them to upgrade this guitar.
I have some vintage style tuners laying around that I bought for a cheap Tele I have...but for some reason they didn't fit the Tele - I thought I would use them on the Squire. But no!...not because they don't fit, but because I really like the Squire tuners. Very nice.
There is no fret sprout, although I plan on smoothing the fret ends. I figure I'll condition the neck and fret board a bit to give it a more "upscale" feel.
But the guitar is light, sounds more open and "straty" than my American Strat, and is fun to play. I'm quite impressed with this "cheap" guitar!

Squier has come a long way.
I have a Squier '77 Vintage Modified Jazz Bass that is fantastic.
Congrats!

I have a Squier (Affinity) Strat from 1999 that I really like to play. Don't know what it is about a Strat.
