There's no accounting for taste. Some will like it, some will not. Personally it doesn't offend me but I don't particularly care for it.

I don't mind it, but I wouldn't buy it, even at the sale price of <£6k

Some manufacturers are targeting Japan with their higher-end offerings. The 117 Trillion yen stimulus package gives us each about $3,300 (US) a month with no end date. So yes, this may be an ugly guitar in some eyes, but the cash needed to buy it is available here. And buying a US-made PRS is a status symbol. Me? Nope ... I have the same reaction to this as the rainbow Les Paul's that Gibson sold. guitarchimp.com/products/2013-gibson-les-paul-zoot-suit-rainbow

I think we can blame Carlos Santana for PRS doing these things.

The first that popped into my head when seeing that guitar was the Mexican Flag. NTTAWWT

Is there a ghost in this thread I am not seeing? Click that hotlink in the first post (UGLY) and you'll see a PRS. No problem with that at all. Heck, I paid money for a Tom Morgan Les Paul.

I can't say I love the color combination, but its definitely a cool guitar. The wood grain on the back of the body is amazing.
If it has 6 strings I like it is the thing.

Over the last couple years I’ve built some guitars with non-traditional color schemes. I started a thread about one down the in instrument repair/mod forum. The sugar pine thread. I’ve found these sell like hot cakes. And I suspect it’s not to guys in our age-group.

I never met the gentleman, but I’d be surprised if Ted McCarty would enjoy being associated with that guitar.

I don’t mind the front view.
It does look as though Fisher Price were called in to design the colour scheme for the rear of the instrument.

Splattercasters and bowling ball finishes on Strats is just way cool in my opinion. At least most of them look pretty darn good. ( again in my humble opinion )

Hmmm. Those colors are just too bold to go together in a guitar. I definitely have to rate it a 10/10 for execution. Getting the three colors that vivid and getting all the transitions right can't be easy. Whoever buys it loves the Jamaican flag so much that they already have it on half of everything they own, so it'll fit right in for them. I've seen plenty of guitars with American flag motifs that are gaudy as can be, but for someone who just loves that image and wants it on everything, they're not going to care.
Now that I think about it, it kinda looks like one of those frozen fruit pops you see in the cardboard boxes in the grocery store. Are those still around, or were they just a '90s thing? Looking like something you can eat might be dangerous for a bunch of hardcore reggae fans deep in a jam session...

The Jamaican flag PRS isn't nearly as fugly as that Zoot Suit Les Paul.
Blech!
Truth be told I'm kinda digging the PRS. Ya mon.

I like it.
It reminds me of the PRS Al Dimeola Rainbow; a guilty, half-hearted pursuit of mine. I am really a traditionalist when it comes to finishes on the guitars I own.
