Congrats!
That is the epitome of what a SG should be. 😎

Oh... and dime the green channel on your DSL and don your schoolboy outfit.
We certainly don’t need a picture of that. You can just tell us about it.

The grain on that is picture perfect. Like the one you'd use to advertise it on the manufacturer's website.
Wow, congrats!

The advantage of ordering from Sweetwater is they post pics and weight of the actual guitar. This one impressed me visually and weighs in at something like 6.3 lbs. It’s supposed to be here tomorrow.

It looks like you're about to rock! We salute you! ^^^ Gold Star! Yeah man. That version of the SG, to me, is Gibson's Telecaster: fairly basic, well made, and can easily cover any type of music you decide to play. It's a jack of all trades, and master of all trades as well.

You picked out a beauty! The finger board is very dark too. It makes for a good contrast with the binding. Crank it!

There are 490s in my Faded SG. For some reason Gibson used 300k volume pots, too. I changed ‘em to 500k to get the proper Kerr-rang from the guitar.

Putting 500k pots is on my retirement list. They aren’t bad pickups. The bridge doesn’t seem to have that bite even with the tone pot maxed. I am hoping a 500k pot will open it up a bit.

I've always loved the sound of SG's but have never owned one.

Hey, budg, when it comes in, let us know how you like it and what you like about it. Red is a good color for an SG.

That’s awesome. I’m sure you’ll love it. Start looking for a wide leather strap with a heavy nappe on the business side.

Thanks guys. Still waiting for it. I’ll give a mini review when it gets here. Seldom. All my straps are 3 inches. I’ve been using Franklin Straps as they have some padding, but am looking for something with a little more around the shoulder area. I gave up on heavier Les Pauls because of a pinched nerve in my neck that’s part of degenerative disc disease.

You'll love it. It is a stretch to say that such a well known instrument from a well known manufacturer is underrated, but it kinda is. It looks too metal and gets pigeonholed. Ironically I don't think they're all that great at metal, but they're great for many other things. When I get a good one in my hands, I always have a hard time putting it down.

SG is a very good guitar, Metal? With enough OD's sure. Rock tones? Hell yea. AC/DC is not metal

They kinda get nasal and weird when you try that. Then again, I don't really think any guitar sounds good when you do that, so maybe I'm just biased.
