Very nice leftee. That’s a beauty for sure . I love my 335 and if I recollect, the only difference between the satin vs gloss models is the finish... and of course the Dot neck. Congrats.

The shop had offers opened up, so I tossed one their way It's not the first time you've done that. I'm sure there's a support group somewhere for your condition. Looking forward to a review.

This one comes with the T-Type pickups which are supposed to be recreations of the ‘70s T-Tops. We’ll see what that’s all about.

I'm not normally a fan of the satin finishes but that looks really good.

I might buff it out a little. My Goldtop Classic has a satin finish and it buffed up pretty nice. It’s not like a perfect gloss clear, but it definitely came out shinier.

I think you’ll like the rounded C neck. Beefy but not cumbersome. They’ve always done a nice job with the satin 335s imo.

Nice, Nice Nice! I have being GASIn' for a 335 for so long. A local shop offered one for AUS $2000.00 of retail which was awesome but it came to around $4850.00. Still to expensive unfortunately. I'm making do with a vintage burst Epi Dot. Nice guitar really. Pups are clear and articulate with no muddiness or harshness, pots have a good range of control (better and more pronounced than my Gibby Les Paul in fact) and there are no flaws with fit and finish. Still.... a Gibby 335 is a still callin'.

Very nice Eric, how do those MHS II Humbucker Pickups sound? Don't think I have heard those before. (but then again there are a lot of things that have flown over the coupe with me LOL ) Also, what is a hand-wired Memphis Tone Control Plus circuit? Some say it is a treble bleed while others say it is 50's tone and volume setup (for those that don't know it is tone capacitor from tone pot to center terminal of each volume pot.) I am "corn fused" maybe you can clear up some of the mud for me.

Honestly the only differences I could see was the bracing and center block were “thermally engineered” , whatever the heck that means. Was it put into an easy bake oven to give the buyer more mojo? Maybe smoked in a smoker to give it that seasoned pine flavor that we all crave? I get a feeling Gibson’s marketing department was just blowing smoke up the behind of those who are paying extra for such a procedure.

Im curious to see if your ABR 1 bridge is mounted directly into the body or does it use bushings. My 2016 335 has an ABR1 mounted directly into the body. My 2020 SG has an ABR1 with metal bushings. This seems to be the prefered method of Nashville USA made Gibsons. I think the SG Standards have a Nashville bridge and I owned a 2014 335 that had the Nashville bridge . It looks like they did away with the titanium saddles too.

Yeah , like the nitro makes the guitar “breathe” to improve your tone schtick . But I love nitro guitars. Not anything tone related, I just like the way it feels .

Going through the Gibson legacy pages, this guitar seems to most reflect a 2016. If that is the case, it will have burstbuckers 1&2 installed.
The mystery evolves...

I like the BBs a lot. Also lots of love for the ‘57s.
The tuners also tipped my off that this might be a 2016. It has the Grovers, not the vintage style tulip tuners the newest ones have.

If that’s the case it is speced like mine without the gloss. Mine is a 2016 model that I got in the infamous CME blowout sale. In looking they also made a dot neck with grovers available in sunset sunburst for 2019. Those came with mhs pickups . It looks like the rest of the specs are 2016 specs.

A 335 does not need a glossy finish or gingerbread all over it to be a killer tone machine. Get a really good one and it's one of those things you never get rid of.
"The bracing and center block were 'thermally engineered', whatever the heck that means."
Probably pyrolized/torrefied (baked) to stabilize the wood. Baking actually does make wood less susceptible to varriations in temperature and moisture and helps prevent dimensional changes over time.

I agree that the satin finish doesn’t detract from the guitar at all except for looks. I have played several of the satin versions and they were formidable semi hollows in every way. My tribute LP is every bit a rock machine any of my Traditionals were. I am glad the newer satin 335s have fretboard binding though.
