You know, call me crazy but the neck break doesn't bother me. If the price was right I'd love to have that guitar.
I have it in my watch list, maybe it if doesn't move in the next few weeks I'll hit him up.

Yea, I'm not phased by them if they're done well and priced accordingly.
I'd be angry if one of mine got popped, but I'd repair it nonethesame because I LOVE the damned things and they're worth the hassle and the risk.

I'd have one, but not at that price. Then ya have tax and shipping.. Surprised that dude is selling that guitar. He may regret it.

I love my 2018 Studio HPs (robotuners and all) - with the factory Plek on both, the flight cases, and full nice finishes plus actual MOP inlays, it's a poor man's LP Custom with stock 490/498 pickups. The only non-standardish thing past the tuners (which could be yanked off) is the extra-wide neck and titanium parts (bridge saddles,zero-fret nut). I wasn't sure on the nut, but it came set up perfectly and has zero issues They now have custom poker chips (Will/Love) but otherwise are as pictured. The Arctic White one has significant yellowing under the pickguard (and did within the first year), but that's what Arctic White does eventually anyway. Absolutely stunning pieces of work for the $1800ish they were new - not the low-end Studio, to be sure, but...I don't feel as if I was missing *anything* from the things versus the big brothers. I'd really like to get one of those extra-wide fretboard versions. I never really see any for sale around here, though.

You'll have to dig, those of us with them aren't giving them up.
Honestly they had everything I would have wanted in a signature model in one fell swoop, from pickups down.

Alright, which one of you jokers made an offer on all of the Platinum Studios I'm watching on Reverb?? I'm watching 4 Studios right now and I got offer notices for all of them, all within minutes of each other. It's either a huge coincidence, or one person has the same taste as I. Interesting.

I sold another Strat. It's going to be real hard not to make an offer on that Platinum Studio with a broken headstock. Ugh. Somebody buy it before the Reverb funds clear.

still have the black les paul studio i bought in 1984. Great guitar. At the time I was told it was the same as the standard, but without the visual appointments. It has just gotten better with age, unlike me.....

The originals (and some of the moderns) are just described. They added different price point versions, just like there's more than just the Standard and the Studio and the Custom now, or the million Strat variants. The top-end Studio HPs from a few years back were the bastard stepchildren of the LP Custom (pickups, color options) and the LP recording (the weird options and dip switches), and with the factory Plek and gloss finish etc....I do not miss the binding or appointments, nor the fact I got two for the price of a Custom!

Nice! I like it!!! Price matters little when it comes to a good LP, if it's good it's good. Enjoy! One of my Fav LP's is my 2013 budget LP, I love it. I have Historic's, Standards, Customs, I've played originals, yet this is one of my first go to's for many reasons: Les Paul Deluxe II, got it as new old stock back in 2016 for $865. It has: 2 push pull volume controls for a 10-dB boost/coil splitting. Takes a 9V battery for the boost. True bypass: disengages boost completely removes active circuit. 490R pickup in neck position, BurstBucker Pro pickup in bridge position '60s-style neck shape Book-matched, carved flame maple top 1 piece mahogany neck 1 piece mahogany body Grover tuners Vintage Sunburst Gloss nitro finish hard shell case

Well, no tequila was involved, but I did end up making an offer yesterday. I either insulted him or he hasn't checked, but the offer expires in a few minutes and he hasn't countered, or even declined. Oh well. Kinda bummed, but kinda relieved. I would have been overpaying, but it would have been worth it to me because I'm not worried about resale, I'd probably die with the thing. Onward and upward.....

Slightly off topic, but I filled my Les Paul void with a late '90's "The Paul II". 490/498 pickups, stock wiring and way less weight. Also easy on the wallet with no case and some buckle rash from previous owners.

The guy says it's from 1978, does that sound legit? I don't know much about those.

Studios are great guitars.
My one and only Gibson Lester Pohlfuss was an early '90s Studio H-S-H in transparent midnight blue. It was a wonderful guitar to play but I just couldn't deal with the 10-way switching, open-face H-S-H pickups or color. It was like owning a jacked -up camo Corvette with off-road tires and running boards.
If it had been a two humbucker L.P. I would have been satisfied.

Well, in a moment of weakness, and perhaps too much wine, I WAY overpaid for that Platinum Studio. I'll never sell it, so I guess like they say, you can't overpay, you just pay too soon! LOL I'm excited to get it! Now if it can just get here without being washed away by Hurricane Laura, I'm golden!
