Yeah, sad news. I was reading an article this morning when I found out where they said how limitations (budgetary) were a driving force behind his not using an orchestra at the time of his western soundtracks. He was a huge influence on the use of the electric guitar in popular media. What a legend.

His music helped define an era, and launched the career of a cowboy named Clint Eastwood. Just goes to show, music is the universal language.

Lesser known film, but one of his most beautiful scores: “The Mission.”

Lesser known film, but one of his most beautiful scores: “The Mission.” Oh wow. I haven't seen that movie since I was a teenager. I need to watch it again now.
