I've read quite a bit of 20th-century world history and was already aware of the battles fought between the Japanese and Soviets in Manchuria in 1939 (Khalkin Gol). I also knew about the Wehrmacht units comprised of soldiers from lands occupied by the Germans (including the Manchurian Wehrmacht soldiers who were captured during the battle for Normandy in 1944 manning coastal defenses*). But the information in this video was news to me:
*These troops had previously been conscripted first by the Japanese, subsequently captured and conscripted by the Soviets and finally captured and conscripted by the Germans from whom they were captured by the Allies).
