I had a beautiful Martin D-42 Custom built for me awhile back. It was a stunning guitar in every respect, however...
I was pressed with the need to own a Martin '37 D-28 Authentic, so I sold the D-42 to help raise the needed funds.
Welp... the '37 D-28 Authentic didn't work out because between the neck shape and 1 3/4" nut (one of the Custom Shop features I ordered on the D-42 was a MOD V neck with 1 11/16" nut), I just hit too many clams.
SO... I sold the D-28A on (at no financial loss) and got back in contact with the guy I sold the D-42 to. Turns out he was afraid to take it out because it was so pretty and he feared he'd put a scratch on it!
We worked the deal and my D-42 Custom comes back home tomorrow where it will be staying until my final dirt nap.
This isn't the first time I've bought back an old guitar. If I could only find my former 1970 Martin D-35 I sold over a decade ago, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat.
Lookin' forward to tomorrow!

Very cool.
Instruments want to be played no matter how pretty they are!
