All five of my electric guitars have Dunlop locking strap buttons installed. I have two straps - one is 3" leather hand-tooled and was an expensive gift. The other is a Fender tweed strap that is easy to adjust length. Both straps have Dunlop strap locks installed. So both straps are interchangeable for any of the five guitars.

I could care less what kind of strap I use. I happen to have a Levi that came with a guitar I bought a long time ago. Nice, simple, black leather. Previous to that I used super cheap ones. If I were in the market I think I'd buy one of those recycled seat-belt ones. Seems like they'd be very comfortable.

I totally get functionality, but I also think a guitar strap is like a belt. If you have a nice pair of pants and dress shirt, a Jethro Bodeen rope belt may not complete the look, lol.

Preach on brother. When I"m on stage with $5k+ worth of gear I want everything to be looking sharp.

I’ve tried all manner of straps, leather, the seatbelt ones, cheap ones, etc.
I’ve never had one I was happier with than that plain DiMarzio elastic. It’s black, so that’s rock n roll enough for me.
I should add at this point, I haven’t played regularly with a strap since the mid 90’s. Most of my playing since then has been on the couch.

After 20 + yrs my black leather Levi's finally gave up the shark so I bought a black Italian leather Italia about 10 years ago and its it's great. They usually run a buy one get one sale in the summer. Who knows if I'll ever use the 2nd one.

For my heavy stuff a 3 inch-plus wide strap. Otherwise I am attracted by cheap price. I have a crapload of Ernie Ball and Stagg vinyl and bonded leather padded straps. I still have a couple hootenanny-style straps and a wide leather/fabric strap from 41 years ago that I bought when I played a heavy aluminum-necked Kramer B200 bass.

What if your belly hangs over your belt? Well, that's what a 335 is for.

What if your belly hangs over your belt? That's what some might call being a bit too prosperous.

In case anyone is unfamiliar, the term for that is Dunlop disease: when yer belly dun lopped over yer belt.

I always go with Levy. I got a really cool one at a funky little guitar shop in Bloomington, Indiana last May.

For the past 20 years or so, it's been DiMarzio ClipLock straps for each of my electrics.

I typically get the standard Levy 2.5 inch leather ($19.95)...or just use the cheap Fender ones I have laying around from buying guitars. BUT - with my anniversary coming up, I got my wife to buy be a Levy Design #3 for about $55.

1. Is it vegan? 2. Does it come in black?
That’s it.
