I like Fenders, but my biggest gripe about the company is their never-ending parade of model and name changes. I can't keep up with them. It makes identifying models very confusing, especially in the used market. Then again, I should care too much. I have 4 Fenders in my herd and I'm not active in the market. Only two were bought new. My last purchase was a new Precision V around 2012.

Yep, my Fender American Pro Jazz is same As Fender American Standard with pickups I didn’t care for that much And I guess my Fender Player series P is slightly upgraded of Fender Standard. Sweeter neck snd better electronics (at least on my 2018 first year model
