Soul... You / this... remind me of one of my favorite poems, by Langston Hughes, entitled, "Trumpet Player." It is a fine poem in its entirety; the next-to-the-last verse has a reference to the Trumpet Player's soul. If you're not familiar with it, maybe you can find it sometime; it's worth the read.
