So I'm probably going to have to side line this project until after my move, but the Parson Street humbuckers I ordered will not fit into my HSH player Strat body because they are considerably deeper than the existing humbuckers. I can always install them into my Epi 335, so waste not, but I'm curious. Have any of you guys successfully fitted these into a Strat? the mounting legs are just too dang long and I'd rather not cut, bend and drill to make 'em fit. Routing seems doable on the neck pickup but I just don't think there would be enough room on the bridge before drilling into the trem cavity. Is there a solution?

I seem to remember drilling the body to make ‘em fit. I might have got into the trem cavity. That’s why pickguard.

I’d have to look. It might have happened.

I certainly does not hurt the guitar in the slightest.
That giant hole for the vibrato block lets sunlight all the way through too.
A really simple way to do it is with a 3/4" Forstner bit in a drill press. The two holes don't have to be square.

Weight relief. If it’s good enough for Gibson...

Here are some options if you don't want to rout or drill the guitar body to accommodate deeper pickup mounting. You could cut and bend the existing ears shorter and then drill and tap for the screws. if you don't have the tools to tap new threads, you can do this: Clean both surfaces well to remove oil/grease/wax. Use liquid flux, rosin core solder, and a hot iron.

Great stuff there Peegoo. I've thought about both but it seems a reckless endeavor for the ill equipped (i.e.-me). On the last option, wouldn't that cause a screw alignment issue, or would it not be significant enough?

You can pinch them together a little and bend up the tabs to perfectly align the screw holes with the holes on the pickup rings. It doesn't take much at all.
