Watched the beginning of the Dodgers/Giants game. Cardboard cutout fans in the stands right behind the plate, rest of the stadium empty, some people in the field and dugouts wearing masks. Pumped in crowd noise. Very Twilight Zone like...

Fauci threw the first pitch at the Nationals/Yankees game.
He made sure that nobody caught anything from him.

Haha!
I'm psyched!! The Pirates can't lose more than 60 games.

Watched the games last night with interest. It’s strange to see empty seats, but it’s great to see the game being played again! The Yankees and the Dodgers look good. My Blue Jays are still looking for a field to play their home games.

Red Sox start tonight vs Baltimore. I watched a couple of the exhibition games -- very weird. But it's better than nothing.

I heard a recording this morning of Tom Hanks hawking hot dogs to be broadcast at a game. It's just not a baseball game without a hot dog.

It's just not a baseball game without a hot dog. As I have posted more than once here and on the FDP, the best hot dog I ever had in my entire life was a Nathan's, at Yankee Stadium in July 2007. The old Yankee Stadium, 1976 version.

Caught the Dodger game (Go Dodgers!), and it was a weird sight seeing so much emptiness and piped in crowd sounds. We'll see how long this shortened season goes.

I've dumped most all pro sports, I still will watch golf and tennis, for now anyway.
The one good thing I found with Covid, the lack of sports on radio. The two radio stations I listen to pre-empt regular programming for College Basketball and the Reds. I always hate turning on the radio expecting one thing and getting a game.

Garrett Cole. The Pirates are nothing but a farm team. But they're all we have so I'm sticking with them.

With the shorter season and all the changes, they should have just had fun with it and turned it into an extended All-Star game. Even if they make it to a championship of some sort, what will it really mean?

Oh, if the Mets win the World Series it will mean everything to me! Yeah, long suffering. I'll take what I can get.

It's been a while for the Pirates, I'll take a championship anyway it comes. I won't mind a "*" for the season.

I'd love to be the only fan in the stands. I find it hard to believe they couldn't please everyone and let a few people in to see the game. Now that would be a great memory.

None of the stuff regarding kneeling or offensive/non-offensive debates about team names that I just deleted comports with our rules. If you want to talk about baseball, this is your thread. If you want to talk about politics and hot button topics, I bet CNN or Fox News have an appropriate forum somewhere.
Thank you.

Our Phils won today, the virtual high fives after were funny but sad.

I’d have a sharpie with me and draw mustaches on the cardboard people around me. Well... and other things as the mood strikes.

Tonight I watched the Yankees play the Nats.
I used to watch a lot of baseball until maybe ten or fifteen years ago. Since I have moved to a city with a team, I have devolved more interest again. Plus I like the slower pace--more opportunity to chat with the wife, get a snack or a drink or take a bathroom break.

We'll convert you to a Philly sports fan Twang. You're a Mummer now so Philly sports indoctrination is mandatory. You're gonna wind up a '4 for 4' as we call it. Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers fan. They all have as much a chance as anyone right now in this weird time of life let alone sports.

I'd love to be the only fan in the stands. You'd have a MUCH better chance of retrieving a foul ball and coming home with a souvenir. Or home run if you are in the bleachers.

now 12 players and coaches for the Marlins have tested positive so their game w/the Orioles tonight is cancelled. and since they played the Phillies yesterday their game w/the Yankess is cancelled. can the entire season which is only a few days old be far behind?

How can they have a blackout rule when they are not selling tickets? I don't get that one.
